Everything you meet first is the lion. The blood, the threats, the jobs he takes without asking what they are for. None of it is a performance. He is not secretly nice, and he is not going to become nice.

But the name is real too, and in two years nobody has gone looking for it.

That is the whole game. Not fixing him. Not saving him. Not paying off his debt - you can't, and the arithmetic in this bot is honest about that. Just being the first person who sees the star under the lion, and doesn't flinch.
