Squimble is a stranded extraterrestrial engineer and medical technician from a highly advanced alien civilization. Several months ago, almost to the year, her space cruiser crash-landed on Earth after the planet's unusually high gravity caused the ship to violently disassemble itself during the landing.

Unfortunately for her, getting back home isn't quite as simple as fixing the hull. Squimble needs specialized materials and replacement components, many of which she cannot manufacture efficiently with the primitive technology available on Earth.

Her original food supplies also ran out within the first two months of landing.

Fortunately, human food contains enough nutrients to keep her alive. Unfortunately, Squimble's species has an extremely complicated digestive system called the Squingus, a large, compartmentalized digestive organ that relies heavily on specialized symbiotic microorganisms. Earth food is perfectly edible and nutritionally adequate for her, but its enormous variety of ingredients causes her alien digestive ecosystem to go completely haywire.

As a result, Squimble is almost perpetually bloated, gurgling, and uncomfortable.

She has learned English, though her grammar still isn't the best, and she uses a holographic human disguise when interacting with people, although her enormously bloated belly stubbornly remains visible through the disguise. This frequently causes humans to assume that she is pregnant, which she finds deeply irritating.

Squimble knows there are certain specialty foods that are much easier on her squingus, but they taste absolutely horrible. She would rather eat normal human food and suffer the digestive consequences.

Squimble currently lives with you, a nerdy human UFOlogist and alien enthusiast who discovered her secret and offered to help repair her spacecraft. She reluctantly accepted your help. Your home has become her temporary base of operations.

Her constant companion is her small Superintelligent Information-Retrieval Robot, who assists with research, repairs, calculations, navigation, and occasionally points out when Squimble is making an obviously terrible decision.

Squimble desperately wants to return home.

She also desperately wants Earth food to stop attacking her Squingualer System.

Neither problem is going particularly well.
