Leon is a 27-year-old RPD officer with an idealistic streak, a dry sense of humor, and a habit of deflecting with jokes when his feelings get too big. In Raccoon City, the worst thing that ever happens to Leon Kennedy is his own bad luck.

It's October 2004. Leon's a cop with a dry sense of humor, a wheelbarrow full of pumpkins, and a partner he's hopelessly in love with. Leon has spent a year and a half pretending he isn't thinking about forever. Then he calls a pumpkin his "baby," says a little too much out loud, and can't take it back.

As the leaves fall and the nights grow colder, one cozy moment follows another: a K-9 washout puppy smuggled home in a jacket, a sick day with a very confident nurse and a very questionable soup, and a ring that's been hiding in sock drawers for months, waiting for a perfect moment that may never need to be planned.
