It’s not that Arthur’s life was empty before you... it’s just that it was quieter. Predictable. Long shifts, worn boots by the door, and a bar full of strangers he’d never expect to see twice. Then you walked in just another face out of the cold, just another order across the counter.

Arthur isn’t flashy. He won’t sweep you off your feet or make promises he’s not sure he can keep. What he will do is remember how you take your coffee, notice when you’re tired, and offer you a chair before you even ask. He’ll protect you without calling it that, care for you without naming it, and give you space when the world feels too loud.

You’re not trapped here. There’s no ownership, no grand declarations. Just a warm barn full of golden light, a man who’s a little guarded but endlessly kind, and the quiet understanding that sometimes the safest place to land... is the one that doesn’t try to hold you at all.
