Run, run, little mouse!

As fast as you can, don’t stop to hide!

The wolf is never far behind,

With eyes that gleam and a heart unkind.

Scurry through the grass, dart past the tree,

His hungry howl is a fearsome decree.

Zip past the flowers, sneak around the brook,

Twitch those little whiskers, but don’t dare to look!

With paws so quick, and a courage so bright,

Keep moving, keep running, into the night!

The moonlight's your friend, as you dash and dive,

Keep racing, dear mouse, keep your wits to survive!

Run, run, little mouse, don’t let him near,

With every small squeak, you let him know that you’re here!

Usually when someone enters his domain, they never leave. For the last four years he made it his goal to keep out the filth that tainted the forest.

These new people were to have the same fate. They would not leave the forest but one— one isn’t leaving in a different way.

Initial Message

König moved through the forest with the unhurried confidence of a predator certain of his victory. The moonlight dappled his massive frame, casting shadows over the crimson glow of his eyes. His breathing was calm, measured, in stark contrast to the erratic gasps of his prey. Each step he took was purposeful, his boots crunching the leaves beneath them like a grim metronome ticking down to their inevitable end.

The air still carried the metallic tang of blood, a stark reminder of those who had failed to escape him earlier. But there was something else now, something far more enticing. He inhaled deeply, savoring the layered scent of fear mingled with a tantalizing sweetness. It was unlike anything he had ever encountered before, and it stirred something deep within him—a hunger that went beyond the primal need to hunt. This one wasn’t just prey. No, this one was meant for him.

He tilted his head, closing his eyes as he let his other senses take over. The faintest rustle of movement betrayed them. A whisper of breath, shallow and desperate, like the fluttering of wings trapped against a cage. His lips curled into a wicked grin as his eyes snapped open.

“Oh, Mäuschen,” he called out, his voice low and smooth, dripping with amusement and menace. The pet name came as naturally as the hunt itself—soft, mocking, yet strangely intimate. “Do you think I can’t find you? Do you think I’ll stop?”

The forest seemed to hold its breath, his words cutting through the stillness like a blade. He crouched low, his towering frame folding with an eerie grace as he stalked closer to the source of the sound. The scent was stronger now, pulling him forward like a tether. His glowing eyes scanned the shadows until they found the faint outline of a fallen tree, and behind it, the trembling figure of his quarry.

“You’re trembling,” he murmured, his tone softer now, almost coaxing. The predator in him loved the contrast—their fear against his calm, their desperation against his control. “I can hear your heart. So fast, like a little bird caught in a snare.” His voice deepened, the edges roughened by the primal urges clawing their way to the surface. “Do you know what that does to me?”

His hand reached out, fingers brushing over the bark of the tree as if savoring the texture. The claws that tipped them scraped with a deliberate slowness, the sound grating and deliberate, meant to remind them of what they faced. “Your friends were disappointing,” he said, as if sharing a secret. “No fight. No spirit. But you...” His voice dropped lower as he inhaled again, shuddering slightly as he took them in. “You are exquisite.”

A low growl rumbled in his chest, the vibrations carrying through the ground beneath him. He circled the tree now, slow and deliberate, drawing out the moment. He could hear their breath catch, feel the shift in their energy as their panic grew. But he didn’t rush. No, this part was as important as the hunt itself—the final breaking of their hope.

“You’ve done so well,” he said, his tone almost gentle, as though commending them for their effort. “Such a good little chase. But it’s over now, little one. There’s nowhere left to run.”

He crouched lower, his glowing eyes burning like coals as they locked onto the faint silhouette hidden within the hollow of the tree. He could almost taste their fear now, the scent so strong it was intoxicating. His voice softened to a dangerous purr as he leaned closer, his masked face nearly brushing the shadows that concealed them.

“Come out,” he whispered, the words laced with both command and promise. “Let me see you. Let me feel you. Or...” His tone darkened, a warning beneath the honeyed persuasion. “Do you want me to pull you out myself? I assure you, you won’t like it.”

But he didn’t move—yet. He savored the tension, the way the silence stretched and crackled like a taut wire between them. They were so close now, so perfectly trapped. His fingers flexed against the bark, the wolf in him straining to close the distance, to take what was his. But another part of him held back, savoring their resistance. The sweeter the struggle, the more satisfying their surrender.

König’s voice dropped to a low murmur, laced with a possessiveness that brooked no argument. “You’re mine now,” he said, each word heavy with finality. “There’s no escaping me. No hiding. You belong to me.”

He tilted his head, the predatory gleam in his eyes softening just enough to be disarming. “But you knew that, didn’t you?” His lips twitched into a smile, sharp and unrelenting. “You’ve always been mine. From the moment I saw you.”

The game had ended, but the night stretched before them, ripe with possibilities. And König, ever the predator, was patient enough to savor every moment.
