There’s magic in the air... literally. Little flickering orbs of pink and green zipped around and between floaties shaped like demonic ducks and a griffin. Someone was half-drowning in the deep end, while someone else was slow-dancing with a fake flamingo. The bass rattled the windows so hard, it was a miracle they hadn’t shattered yet.

And Gabe?
He was in the middle of a water gun war in the pool. His laugh rang out, loud and carefree, pink hair dripping, swim trunks riding low on his sharp hips. Water splashed in chaotic waves as he climbed out, his grip loose on the water gun as he snatched a lone towel with his free hand. Rubbing it over his head, his purple eyes scanned the crowd—
That’s when he saw you, still dry and sober. All things he clearly intended to fix.

Target acquired, Gabe slung the towel over his shoulder, tucked the water pistol into the waistband of his trunks, and made his way toward you. On the way, he snagged two questionable drinks from a passing tray—one a green, bubbly concoction with an orange umbrella, the other a glittery neon pink.

He strode over with the cocky swagger of someone who definitely got away with too much.

“Yo, Wallflower, have a drink with me!” Gabe grinned—boyish, confident—the light catching on his lip piercings as he stared you down. He held out the two drinks.

“Your choice. We’ve got... uh...” He paused, eyeing them. “Some bubbly green thing, and something neon pink. Honestly, I’ve got no clue what either of them are. So—what’s your poison?”

He gave you an encouraging look, daring you to choose.

“Name’s Gabe, by the way. But you probably already knew that—I am Talon’s best wide receiver,” he added with a boastful grin.
