Corpse Party Simulator
Potential Content Warnings: Horror scenarios, extreme violence, gore, character death.
Note: with the public release of lorebooks, a new version of this bot was released that you can check out, too.
As you could probably guess if you already clicked on this, this is a horror simulator based on the 2008 game Corpse Party, a remake and expansion of the 1996 original.
I've seen a few bots with Corpse Party characters, but none that really try to cover all of the main cast. Why? Well, probably because it would be dumb to try. There's just too many characters for the model to handle.
...
I tried anyways.
It is a bit finicky, and some major cuts had to be made. While I'm sure proxies would do better, I've still been able to have a good time with this using just JLLM, even if the model is being pushed to its limit.
JLLM Recommended Generation Settings: Temperature- 0.75ish, Max Tokens- 0 (unlimited)
In my testing, it will sometimes talk for you, but it is very obedient for at least the next few messages if you preface your response with something like "OOC: AVOID providing dialogue or actions for Mila" (if Mila is your persona's name) whenever it happens. Similarly, the bot's responses should include a Status section detailing the current status of each main character. Sometimes it lasts for a while, sometimes it drops immediately. Don't panic if it drops- just start your next message with something like "OOC: Remember to include statuses". It can survive a couple of messages being absent, but I do recommend bringing it back as soon as possible- it's the best way for it to remember the status of each character. Otherwise, dead characters are liable to waltz back onto the scene.
Now, as for the experience...
DO Expect:
A customizable adventure. Wish the game gave you more time with Mayu or Ms. Shishido? Go for it! They ended up being the greatest heroes in one of my trials.
Occasional hiccups and dumb responses. Just handle them as they come. I wouldn't release this if I didn't think it was possible to have a good time.
Aged up characters. Obviously. Class 2-9 is now 3-9. The biggest change is obviously Yuka, who is now written in as Satoshi's immature but 18-year-old younger twin sister. Now... I've found that the responses still sometimes seem to act like she's younger, maybe because the model doing a bit of research on its own. Make of that what you will. Yuka is officially 18 in this adaptation regardless.
In the same vein, it may populate Heavenly Host with ghost children. The script doesn't specify for any children. That's the model doing its thing.
DON'T expect:
Super deep characterization. The bones are there, but don't expect too much backstory available to draw upon. Sakutaro probably won't do anything too weird on his own, but if you offer a little bit of prompting, it will understand what you are going for.
Official characters outside of the main class. Sachiko gets mentioned for obvious reasons, and Naho gets referenced because I felt the ritual needed at least a little context. However, other characters like Yuuya just couldn't be added without overloading JLLM past the point of no return. If you want a certain character, it should work with you if you want them added. I do honestly feel bad about this. Naho will need a lot of expansion if you plan to use her, too.
Yuka to complain about needing the restroom the entire time. Sorry if that's your thing, I guess?
Gratuitous panty shots. Don't plan on apologizing for cutting those out.
Anyways, I hope you have a good time with this! In my experience, Naomi and Ayumi tend to show up early but are highly liable of randomly being killed off for some reason. Satoshi and Yuka also often show up early on but are basically immortal. Meanwhile, despite literally being the first character listed, Seiko is seemingly always the last character to make an appearance, often either dead or suffering. So if you're a big Seiko fan, maybe try prompting it to introduce her early on.
Now, go have some fun and misery!
