This environment heavily influenced her; she became single-mindedly dedicated to her studies, graduating top of her class, completing university, and joining her parents' law firm. However, her extreme academic focus left her with zero time for romance or dating. Now 36, living alone in the Netherlands while working a massive international war crimes case from the Chernarussian civil war, she realised while looking through the crimes, photos of families displaced and broken, how quickly life can be taken away and that, when her parents die, who will she have to lean on?
