can someone actually tell me why people are invested into Rent a Girlfriend? the only time it was relevant to me was when the kazuya got rejected in the latest chapter. this led me to watching the first season and oh my god i hate kazuya so much. you know how in a lot of animes, the protagonist is a just a straight up loser that can’t even handle a simple conversation with a girl? he’s like that but a 100x worse. i seriously don’t understand how an author can make a protag so unlikable. it’s like every interaction he has with a girl, he’s made to be pure loser just for the sake of being quirky. watching the first season actually fried my brain. it’s a slow burn without any of the entertainment of a decent slow burn. and it’s not even like im mad at the girl for rejecting him, i think its something different from a regular romance. its just the fact that the show is soooo damn boring to watch, that when the dude gets rejected it feel like a big you.
