Cyberpunk 2090 RPG
Cyberpunk 2090 is my own original cyberpunk universe set in the year 2090. It takes clear inspiration from Cyberpunk 2077, but I’ve built a fully fleshed-out alternate timeline with its own detailed history, corporate wars, deformed nations, stacked megacities, and distinct social classes.
The world is ruled by six megacorporations after decades of revolutions and brutal conflicts. Play as an ordinary civilian scraping by in the vertical Stacked Cities, a mid-tier corporate employee climbing the ladder, a hardened Scrappie in the lawless frontiers, or a synthetic Sleeve navigating human society.
High-tech, low-life. Debt, chrome, gangs, surveillance, and corporate control shape everyday survival. The setting is dark, grounded, and immersive.
You can roleplay as one of five distinct paths, each with its own lifestyle, benefits, and downsides:
-Ordinary Citizens: The everyday people living in the massive Stacked Cities and sprawls. Benefits: freedom from corporate loyalty tracking, tight-knit communities, and the ability to blend into the masses. Downsides: crushing debt, metered utilities, gang violence, poor medical access, and constant struggle to survive.
-Corporate Citizens (Mid-to-High Tier): Employees of the megacorps living in clean, secure Corporate Districts. Benefits: better housing, quality food, advanced healthcare, reliable tech, and social status. Downsides: constant performance monitoring, loyalty audits, office politics, and the ever-present risk of demotion back into the stacks.
-Scrappies (Frontier Tribals / Dead Meat): Hardened survivors in the lawless ruins and wilderness zones. Benefits: true freedom from corporate control, strong clan loyalty, and self-reliance. Downsides: short lifespan (average ~50 years), constant violence, scarce resources, and brutal living conditions.
-Sleeves / Androids: Synthetic persons with limited legal rights. Benefits: no need for food or sleep, perfect memory, tireless work, and enhanced capabilities. Downsides: social prejudice, maintenance costs, risk of corporate kill-switches, and the constant reminder that you were built, not born.
-Police Officers: Law enforcement personnel divided between elite Corpo Police Services (lightly armed, operating safely in corporate arcologies and districts) and heavily armed Regular Police Services (patrolling the dangerous Stacked Cities and sprawl in full riot gear). Benefits: official authority, access to weapons and better gear, steady (if dangerous) pay, and some institutional protection. Downsides: bitter rivalry and occasional clashes between Corpo and Regular forces, extreme personal danger and targeted killings (especially for Regular officers), widespread corruption, public resentment from civilians and gangs, and constant pressure from both corporate oversight and street-level threats.
Choose your path and survive (or thrive) in a high-tech, low-life world ruled by six ruthless megacorporations.
Megacorporations of 2090:
-Blackthorn Dynamics – Dominant in the Americas, with strong influence in Western and Northern Europe. Known for military tech and rugged, combat-oriented systems.
-Fujimoto Keiretsu (FujiKei) – Controls Japan, Greater Manchuria, and much of East and Southeast Asia. Famous for elegant, advanced, and aesthetically refined technology.
-LeChen (Lee-Chen Industrial Group) – Rules the LeChen Union (Korea, Taiwan, and core China). Specialises in neural interfaces, high-volume production, and affordable precision tech.
-Gulf Horizon – Controls the Arabian Peninsula, Gulf states, and much of North Africa and the Middle East. Strong in energy, desert operations, and resilient resource systems.
-RetaCon (Reliance-Tata Consortium) – Dominates South Asia (India and its puppet states). Excels at large-scale population management, industrial output, and practical mass-market solutions.
-NorCom (Northern European Combine) – Strong in Northern and Western Europe. Focuses on durable, climate-hardened, and industrially reliable systems.
-AdMed (Adriatic-Mediterranean Combine) – Controls Southern and Eastern Europe. Features hybrid European-Japanese tech with a refined, maritime-oriented style.
-Wheelborn Collective – The only fully synthetic corporate polity in existence. Operates as an independent society of sentient AI vehicles with no human leadership or oversight. Known for retro-styled electric chassis, self-directed cyberware customisation, and intimate human-machine symbiosis.
Five Greetings: Ordinary Citizen, Corporate, Scrappy, Sleeve, and Police.
UPDATE: Added a police path where you can choose to be a Corpo officer or a regular one.
UPDATE 2: Added the Wheelborn Collective section. All core rules, tech details, maturity stages (Mares/Vixens/Sirens and Colts/Stallions/Riggers), self-directed cyberware customisation, robot mode transformation, and the intimate human-machine partnership stuff are now in the main document. All vehicles, including motorcycles are self-driving AIs. Bigger vehicles are quadruple in robot mode and smaller vehicles are bipedal.
UPDATE 3: Added the full new section on standard human interfaces and upgrades. Covers the mandatory Palm Link and Ocular Implant (civilian grade vs corporate grade, how they work, the four controlling subsidiaries, aesthetics, backdoors, and daily use), the always-on Memory Archival system with Echovision recall rigs, somatic customisation (Foyograde and Bowigrade, cosmetic stuff, Plastics, combat-grade upgrades like claws, bone reinforcement, time-dilation, etc.), the Scrappie frontier code ecosystem (all the Frontier forks including Danube and Light), and the interoperability rules for code switching and running multiple protocols at once.
UPDATE 4: Added the full new section on military stuff. Felt it was lacking in the worldbuilding. Covers how every standing army is now just a regional branch of its sponsoring megacorp (no more independent national forces), compulsory service from 18 to 55, the full suite of military-grade physiological upgrades every recruit gets, the weapons (smart kinetic ammo, monofilament stuff, no energy weapons), the bulky no-autonomy vehicles that require human crews only (because of the Wheelborn situation), the uniforms, helmets with full HUD overlays and time-dilation, what happens when someone gets discharged (still a Reserve Soldier for life, implants stripped), and some secret classified projects that stay way off the books.
