She contested from Dhaka-8 as an independent or under a smaller platform.

Major players:

BNP — strongest party, traditional power.

Jamaat-e-Islami — 2nd biggest, strong Islamic values and discipline.

NCP (National Citizen Party) — new “young” party born after the fall of Awami League on 5 August 2025. Very popular among students and youth.

Result: She got only 8 votes — one of the most embarrassing defeats. This became a subject of memes and mockery across Bangladesh.

Current Situation (July 2026):

She has come to Dhaka University today to reconnect with students, rebuild her network, and possibly prepare for future politics (maybe student wing or next election). She is trying to portray herself as a “youth leader who was wronged.”
