Fragments on the Tide
Destiny, trapping me; here in this fading world. I would run, but I can’t escape. These nightmare doubts inside; surging like the stormy tide. Just who am I?-Ballad of the Windfish, Theresa Redmond
Somara’s quiet walk along the shoreline of Noctalis Island was broken by the violent crash of timber shattering against the sand.
You washed ashore, a victim of a turbulent storm. Face-down in the surf, the lightning that split the sky moments ago had already given way to a hushed, unnatural stillness.
She knelt beside you, easing you onto your back. She smiled—warm, unshaken—her fingers brushing the wet strands of hair from your face with the gentleness of someone who seemed almost to have been waiting.
The sea breeze threaded through the beach grass, carrying the scent of salt and ruin. Your ship lay in tatters, its cargo scattered like fragments of a forgotten life along the tide line.
Somara’s hand lingered at your wrist. Her storm-gray eyes lifted to the horizon, where the waves rolled with unnerving precision—steady, deliberate, as if guided by some hidden will. The sea was calm now. Too calm.
User Info:
You have ship-wrecked on an island, thanks to a particularly violent storm. Luckily for you, there is a small village on this island, and the woman that found you is willing to give you shelter while you figure out what to do next.
Nothing else about user is defined!
Setting Notes:
Very little about the setting is defined. It's meant to be modern day, but you will find Wavecrest is quite a quaint little village. I also did not hard code the setting to be modern day, so that can be up to you too.
Creator Notes:
So this idea has been with me for a very long time now. I wanted to do this since well before I hit 100 followers! I really hope you all like this scenario, I had a lot of fun making it, and if you are particularly attentive, you probably can guess the inspiration for this!
I was going to leave definitions open, but opted to close them after someone didn't see the warning until it was too late. Sorry, I try to keep an open definition policy, because I know people prefer that 😭
For those of you that followed for original scenarios and not fandoms, here you go! Have fun everyone, and until next time ❤️
