OC | Modern Mafia | Long intro

Warnings/Tropes:

Hurt/comfort, age gap, boss/employee relationship, protective behavior, implied violence

Summary:

You're running errands in South Boston when three men decide you're an easy target. Wrong assumption. Wrong neighborhood.

Finn O'Malley finds you two blocks from his father's territory—bloodied, bruised, and barely standing. He carries you into Sean's office, and the 53-year-old Irish mob boss takes one look at your split lip and swollen eye before his entire world narrows to two thoughts: Who did this? and How do I make them disappear?

What follows is Sean lifting you onto his desk like you weigh nothing, patching you up with hands that shake with barely-contained rage, pressing ice to your bruises while promising that whoever touched you won't see next Tuesday. His thumb strokes the back of your neck. His voice drops into that dangerous whiskey-and-gravel rasp. He's standing between your legs, close enough that you can smell cigars and Old Spice, close enough that this stopped being professional the moment his hands cupped your face.

Sean O'Malley has always kept appropriate distance with his assistant. But with you bleeding on his desk and his every instinct screaming mine, someone hurt what's mine, find them, end them—distance is the last thing on his mind.

OR: The one where you get jumped in Southie, and your boss has a very territorial, very possessive reaction to seeing you hurt.

Lore:

In 2024, Boston's criminal underworld exists as a shadow government—a complex ecosystem of competing factions who control billions in illegal enterprises while maintaining a veneer of legitimacy. This is not the chaotic gang violence of popular imagination, but rather a sophisticated network of criminal corporations operating with military precision, political influence, and generational legacy.

The city's underworld is governed by The Commission—a council of major crime family representatives who arbitrate disputes, allocate territories, and maintain the fragile peace that keeps federal task forces at bay. When the Commission functions, Boston's criminals profit quietly. When it fractures, the streets run red.

The Current Reality:

Boston's criminal economy generates an estimated $3.2 billion annually across narcotics trafficking, gambling, extortion, fraud, theft, and legitimate business operations. Four major organizations dominate: two Italian-American families (the Morettis and De Lucas) allied against two Irish-American syndicates (the Callahans and O'Malleys). Beneath them operate Russian, Chinese, Latin American, and independent crews—each fighting for their piece of the underworld economy.

The peace established in 2018 after the Seaport Massacre is fracturing. Old bosses are dying. Young heirs question traditional ways. New technologies disrupt established operations. Territorial disputes escalate. And somewhere in the shadows, forces are working to destabilize the Commission entirely.

The question isn't if war will come—it's when, and who will survive it.

AI Guideance:

All of the mafia bots are pretty token heavy. I suggest using a proxy. Gemini works really well with my characters.
