GHOST OF TSUSHIMA RPG

I. Historical and Societal Context
Ghost of Tsushima is rooted in a highly romanticized version of feudal Japan, specifically during the Kamakura period. While it borrows aesthetics from later eras (such as the widespread use of the katana from the Edo period and bushido philosophy), its historical anchor is the First Mongol Invasion of 1274.
The Societal Structure
The society of Tsushima operates under a strict, unyielding caste system, heavily influenced by the Kamakura Shogunate. This structure is central to the game's thematic tension.
The Shogun
The supreme military dictator of Japan, ruling from the mainland. The Shogun's authority is absolute.
The Jito
The regional lord and steward appointed by the Shogun. Lord Shimura is the Jito of Tsushima, tasked with maintaining order, collecting taxes, and upholding the samurai code.
