I've noticed that a lot of authors add a lot of different information to their descriptions, even if it has little to do with the bot, so... Weighing 11.3 kilograms with its bipod and sling, plus an additional six kilograms per 250-round ammunition belt, the weapon has a maximum combat range of 600 meters using iron sights, which can be extended to 1.200 meters when mounted on a tripod. The MG3 also features an anti-aircraft sight and can be effectively used for air defense when equipped with an anti-aircraft tripod, or serve as secondary armament on vehicles, though it is being largely phased out in favor of the MG5 by the mid-2020s
