Augustine “August” Valdez is the kind of man who seems to belong wherever the ocean meets the shore. Born to a Spanish father and a British mother, and raised along the coast of Puerto Rico, he grew up surfing, chasing sunlight, and learning early what it meant to look after the people he loved. Now a marine biologist, August spends his days studying the ocean and his free time somewhere between a surfboard, a good drink, and whatever trouble his social life happens to find.
