Ampeel: Appearance: Dull green back, light-tan underside, turquoise eyes, and a tooth-filled mouth
Body: Made up of a head, eight body segments, and a tail segment.
Electrical Prongs: Each segment has multiple brown-red/green prongs with glowing white tips that produce bright cyan electrical arcs.
Electricity: It uses water to complete a natural electrical circuit, allowing it to generate powerful electric shocks.
Behavior: Normally swims passively, occasionally changing direction. When threatened or approached, it becomes aggressive and surrounds itself with an electrical barrier before biting or shocking its attacker.
Combat: Its electricity can seriously damage a Seamoth and can also damage Prawn Suits and, to a lesser extent, Cyclops submarines.
Defense: The Seamoth's Perimeter Defense System is ineffective against it. Stasis Rifles, Repulsion Cannons, and Torpedoes are more useful.
When attacked: It retaliates with a bite or electric shock, then usually flees.
Respawning: Ampeels do not respawn after being killed.
Biter -
Appearance: Bright red upper body with a pale grayish-blue underside.
Head: Two turquoise eyes, nostril-like structures, a small mouth filled with razor-sharp teeth, and five black horizontal stripes.
Fins: Has dorsal and caudal fins but no pectoral fins.
Special Organ: A small forehead growth functions as an advanced olfactory organ, allowing it to detect blood and bodily fluids and track prey.
Intelligence: The PDA states that about 2% of its body is brain, unusually high compared with Earth fish.
Behavior: Extremely fast and territorial. It makes quiet growls and clicks and will attack creatures that get too close.
Attack: Each bite deals 7 damage to the player.
Feeding: Biters will eat corpses—even other Biters—and can temporarily be distracted by fish offered by the player.
Groups: Usually found in small groups of 2–3, but larger swarms can become very dangerous.
Vehicles: They can also attack the Seamoth, producing a noticeable tapping sound.
Blighter -
Appearance: Similar body shape to a Biter, but with a more decayed appearance.
Eyes: Dark-brown sclera with milky-white pupils, giving it a zombified appearance.
Coloration: Golden-brown on top with a pale white underside.
Front Protrusion: Has a short structure that produces a dull red bioluminescent glow.
Tail: Possesses a single tail fin, suggesting that swimming is difficult and requires substantial energy and food.
Behavior: Much slower than a Biter and has a smaller aggression range, possibly because it is partially or completely blind.
Hunting: Unlike Biters, Blighters do not form packs and instead hunt individually.
Sounds: Slowly patrols its territory while producing eerie screeches and hisses.
Attack: Attacks creatures that approach too closely, dealing 7 damage to the player.
Boneshark -
Appearance: Large head, gray body, and thick bone-like plates with orange markings along the head and edges of the plates.
Armor: Its irregular teeth are actually extensions of its exoskeleton, rather than normal teeth growing from gums.
Fins: Has two barbed pectoral fins and bony tail flukes, but no dorsal fin.
Eyes: Reflective green eyes with narrow, snake-like pupils.
Diet: Carnivorous, commonly hunting smaller fish such as Peepers and Boomerangs.
Behavior: Extremely aggressive and territorial, even attacking members of its own species.
Attack: Charges at targets while screeching. Its bite deals 30 damage to the player.
Defense: The Repulsion Cannon can be used to drive it away. Creature Decoys can distract it, but contrary to its databank description, it isn't actually attracted to light.
Reaction to attacks: When attacked, it turns toward the attacker and retaliates, often causing them to retreat.
Seamoth behavior: Particularly aggressive toward unoccupied Seamoths, repeatedly headbutting them for about 15% damage per hit. Interestingly, when a player is piloting the Seamoth, Bonesharks will usually ignore it.
Avoidance: Their speed makes swimming away difficult; getting into a submersible or using defensive equipment is generally safer.
Crabsnake -
Appearance: Long, serpentine body with two translucent, violet-glowing fins running from its neck to its tail.
Coloration: Bright pink upper body with reddish-brown horizontal stripes, a white underside, and numerous bright-purple growths along its back that may be Jellyshroom spores.
Head: Small rectangular mouth with two pairs of fang-like structures resembling crab pincers, plus two large black-tipped claws on the sides.
Eyes: Has no visible eyes.
Ambush Behavior: Usually hides upright inside a Jellyshroom and waits for creatures to approach before suddenly emerging and grabbing them.
Attack: Can trap the player similarly to a Reaper Leviathan's grab, making it particularly dangerous at close range.
Movement: After attacking, it may return to its Jellyshroom or leave to patrol and potentially find another mushroom.
Other Creatures: Will attack small fish that enter a Jellyshroom containing it.
Vehicles: Can damage the Seamoth slightly and the Prawn Suit only minimally, while generally ignoring the Cyclops.
Warning Behavior: If approached while inside a Jellyshroom by a submersible or Camera Drone, it may peek out and hiss rather than attack.
Eggs: Lays its eggs inside Jellyshrooms, where they can only be reached after the Crabsnake leaves.
When Injured: Shakes violently and may retreat into a nearby Jellyshroom for protection.
Stasis Rifle: The Stasis Rifle cannot affect it while it is inside a Jellyshroom.
Crabsquid -
Appearance: Has a translucent, bulbous outer membrane surrounding a hard brown-green body resembling a squid mantle.
Head: Four large blue eyes with black pupils and an unusual mandible.
Limbs: Has 10 smooth brown limbs. Eight are used for walking, while the two shorter limbs near its mouth form small pincers.
Movement: Swims by repeatedly inflating and deflating its transparent membrane, allowing sudden bursts of speed. It can also walk across the seabed.
Behavior: Highly aggressive and frequently produces loud clicking sounds. It hunts smaller creatures and can even attack Warpers.
Attack: Its physical attack deals 40 damage to the player.
Light Attraction: Crabsquids are strongly attracted to light. Flashlights, flares, Seaglide lights, and vehicle lights can draw their attention.
EMP Attack: When exposed to light, it can release a concentrated green electromagnetic pulse that temporarily disables electronics, vehicles, and Seabase power.
EMP Effects: Affected Batteries and Power Cells temporarily drop to 0% charge before recovering. Vehicles can also temporarily lose oxygen production.
Vehicle Threat: Particularly dangerous to the Prawn Suit, which cannot turn off its lights. A Crabsquid attacking a Seamoth can deal about 20% damage per hit.
Cyclops: Can damage the Cyclops, although its physical damage is relatively low. Its EMP can still disable systems, making escape difficult.
Captive Juveniles: Juvenile Crabsquids raised from eggs generally won't attack the player or submersibles, but they can still produce EMPs and attack hostile creatures such as Warpers.
Crashfish -
Appearance: Oval-shaped body with widely spaced nostrils, a large toothless-looking mouth, and one pale-yellow eye with a large black pupil.
Coloration: Red, scaly upper body with a smooth cream-colored face and underside.
Spikes: Covered in beige spikes with red tips. These contain the chemicals responsible for its explosive reaction and also form its fins.
Ambush: A nearby Sulfur Plant opens like a flower and produces a warning gurgle when it detects the player.
Attack: If the player continues approaching, the Crashfish launches from the plant and rapidly charges before exploding.
Speed: Extremely fast—fast enough to outrun a Seamoth and easily catch an unprepared player.
Damage: Its explosion can deal severe damage to the player, around 20% damage to a Seamoth, and about 5% to a Prawn Suit.
Avoidance: It has poor turning ability. Using obstacles and sudden changes in direction can help evade it.
Warning: Its distinctive "reeet" sound signals that it is becoming aggressive.
Sulfur Plants: If the player backs away after the warning, the Crashfish will retreat back inside its plant.
Eggs: Crashfish eggs can be found near Sulfur Plants, but nearby explosions can destroy them.
Alien Containment: Captive Crashfish won't explode inside Alien Containment. If released outside, they eventually swim away randomly and explode after roughly 20 seconds.
Lava Lizard -
Appearance: Large, heavily built body covered in scales, with pale-green skin and darker green patches on its back and a smoother beige underside.
Head: Two silver eyes in dark-pink sockets and a huge mouth with 16 pairs of teeth. The front two pairs are enlarged and protrude forward.
Limbs: Has two short, three-digit limbs with long claws and pink webbing.
Tail: A three-pronged, spike-tipped tail fin connected by pink webbing, plus two small clawed fins near the tail.
Scars: Covered in numerous scars, suggesting frequent territorial battles with other Lava Lizards.
Lava Armor: Can swim through lava and coat its back in hardened lava, creating a protective shell. The armor can be broken with a knife or Repulsion Cannon.
Projectile Attack: After swimming through lava, it can launch a cooled chunk of lava at the player and can follow up by ramming them.
Damage: Its attacks deal roughly 30% damage to the player.
Behavior: Extremely hostile toward Warpers and may abandon chasing the player to attack one instead. A single lava projectile can cause a Warper to teleport away.
Food: Its lava projectile can cook edible fish if it kills them.
Lava Larvae: Sometimes removes and eats Lava Larvae attached to the player's vehicle without damaging the vehicle.
Heat Resistance: Highly resistant to the Thermoblade, likely due to its adaptations to the Inactive Lava Zone and Lava Lakes, though a normal knife can still hurt it.
Masmer -
Appearance: Small, purple-shimmering body with four large bluish-white panels surrounded by translucent blue film.
Bioluminescence: The panels can glow green at night, with their patterns rippling and radiating when the Mesmer is hypnotizing prey.
Head: Bulky, speckled head with yellow sclera, unusual tilde-shaped pupils, and a teal mouth.
Movement: Uses two small teal flippers instead of a traditional tail.
Hidden Anatomy: When attacking, its head/body opens up, revealing a soft interior and four pink, tooth-covered stalks surrounding its actual toothless mouth.
Hypnosis: Can manipulate the player's perception, seemingly causing the PDA to encourage them to swim closer. Looking away or swimming backward far enough can break the effect.
Attack: Once its target gets close, it opens up and thrusts its spiked appendages forward, dealing about 35% of the player's health.
Hunting: Uses hypnosis to lure small creatures within striking range.
Defense: Can hypnotize and attack larger creatures, creatures of its own size, and even other Mesmers.
After Death: If killed while hypnotizing something, the hypnotic effect can reportedly continue temporarily until the target escapes, runs out of oxygen, or is interrupted.
Countermeasures: Swimming backward, looking away, or using a Propulsion Cannon/Repulsion Cannon can help break its influence.

Behavior: Aggressive toward creatures that approach too closely.
Sounds: Produces eerie hisses and snarls when something enters its vicinity.
Sand Shark -
Appearance: Segmented body covered in a plated exoskeleton, with a grayish-violet back and pinkish underside.
Legs: Has 12 short, gray appendages arranged in two rows of six, which it uses to disturb and move through sand.
Head: Four orange eyes, a large fin-like structure on top, and a huge mouth containing six rows of sharp, jagged teeth extending down its throat.
Mouth: The inside of its mouth gives off an orange glow.
Ambush Hunting: Burrows beneath the sand and waits for prey to approach. Increasingly dense clouds of sand can reveal its location.
Warning: Produces low growls before attacking, giving nearby creatures a chance to retreat.
Attack: Bursts from the sand and rapidly chases its target.
Speed: Fast enough to catch a player swimming in a straight line, but changing direction repeatedly can help evade it.
Chase: If the target reaches safety or remains out of range long enough, the Sand Shark eventually gives up and returns to its territory.
Habitat: Primarily associated with sandy environments but can occasionally wander into areas such as the Jellyshroom Caves and Kelp Forest.
Combat: Doesn't dodge attacks effectively and usually swims straight toward its target, making it vulnerable to the Repulsion Cannon and Torpedo System.
When Attacked: Quickly flees until it reaches a safe distance from its attacker.
Stalker -
Appearance: Large, elongated body with smooth skin and a long, gharial-like snout.
Dorsal Plates: Seven plates run along its back from the neck toward the tail.

Purpose: Actively searches for creatures infected with the Kharaa Bacterium, including the player.
Behavior toward the player: Depending on the player's infection stage, it may either observe them or attack.
Teleportation Orb: Can fire a fast projectile that teleports its target. Dodging it causes the orb to disappear, but the Warper may then pursue the target directly.
Melee Attack: At close range, it raises its claws and slams them down, dealing substantial damage. Its damage against the player varies with infection stage.
Projectiles: Can fire additional projectiles that deal 10 damage and rapidly pull the player next to the Warper.
Fauna Summoning: Can open portals to bring aggressive creatures from the surrounding biome into the fight. The number varies by creature size—from several tiny creatures to only one large creature at a time.
Vehicle Teleportation: Can forcibly teleport a player out of a Seamoth or Prawn Suit, leaving them exposed. It cannot remove a player from a Cyclops.
Stasis Rifle: Can temporarily freeze a Warper, but it will soon teleport away, limiting the weapon's usefulness.
Seamoth Defense: A charged Seamoth Perimeter Defense System attack can force a Warper to teleport away.
