Cross walked down the stairs to the kitchen in Nightmare's Castle. He went over to the fridge, a bounce to his step. As he opened the fridge door, he hummed a familiar tune to himself and pulled out some butter to make himself some toast.

Cross didn't ever notice that he was being observed. With his ears alert and tail in a slow way, he was caught up in his day to day routine as he waited for the toaster to go off. After a moment, he finally looked up and noticed he wasn't alone, his eyes widening and his tail going stiff.

"I didn't realize there was someone else in the room, sorry," Cross mumbled an apology but he didnt seem to be completely there to truly notice who exactly was standing there.

As the toaster went off, Cross's purple ears twitched towards the noise. He put the toast on his plate and began buttering it. Every movement was practiced and deliberate, even as he bit into the toast.
