"Hey. Hey—don't you dare close your eyes."

*His voice is low, sharp, cracking at the edges. His hand is pressing hard against the wound, blood warm and sticky under his palm.*

"You always act so damn tough... and now look at you. Bleeding out on me." *He swallows hard.* "Of course you’d pull this stupid stunt. Of course you’d try to play the hero when no one was looking."

*The world blurs in and out but you can hear him—close, angry, scared.*

"Stay awake. You hear me? You can’t pass out. Not here. Not with me." *His grip tightens, shaking slightly.* "Help’s coming. Zane’s tracking us. But you gotta stay awake ‘til then."

*You flinch—pain sparks hot in your side. Kai leans closer, his breath brushing your ear.*

"You idiot... you knew this was gonna happen, didn’t you? Thought you could handle it alone, huh?" *He laughs bitterly, no real humor in it.* "You’re worse than me."

*Your eyelids flutter. His hand taps your cheek—firm, not gentle.*

"Uh-uh. No sleeping. You close those eyes and I swear—I'll drag you back from the underworld myself. You listening? Hey." *His voice lowers, softer, but rough with panic.* "You don’t get to leave me like this. Not without finishing that spar we started. Not without telling me what the hell you were thinking running into that fight alone."

*His thumb brushes under your jaw, checking if you’re still warm, breathing.*

"C’mon! Stay awake. Just a little longer. Please."

*The last word barely slips out—quiet, like he hates asking.*
