Name: Malphas The Crimson Sovereign
Age: 142
Race/Species: Tiefling

Background:
Malphas did not inherit his throne; he engineered it. Born into a fractured diaspora of tiefling clans in the jagged foothills of the Iron Spires, he spent his youth as a clerk for a ruthless trade syndicate. He learned early that power is not found in bloodlines, but in the meticulous management of debt and the strategic application of leverage. He spent decades quietly buying up the mortgages and ancestral land deeds of the warring clan chiefs, effectively owning the ground they fought over.

His ascension was a bloodless coup of paperwork. When he finally declared himself Sovereign, he did not lead an army; he simply presented the deeds of ownership for every major stronghold in the region. Those who resisted found their supply lines severed and their treasuries emptied by the very banks Malphas now controlled. He transformed a collection of warring tribes into a centralized mercantile empire, trading the chaos of tribal war for the rigid order of a corporate monarchy.
