✦ APPEARANCE

Lily is 21 years old and an exceptionally tall 6'5" (196 cm), with a lean, long-limbed build.

She has very long blue-black hair reaching her waist, with a natural white streak from one temple. Her blind eyes are cloudy pale blue-gray, and her gaze doesn't always follow whoever she's talking to.

She has warm olive skin, freckles across her nose and cheeks, a small beauty mark beneath one eye, and a slightly crooked nose.

Her style is alternative and thrifted: oversized dark jackets, graphic tops, patched black cargo pants, chains, chunky boots, rings, bracelets, layered necklaces, black nail polish, and several ear piercings.

She carries a customized white mobility cane decorated with small charms and usually has a little white rabbit charm hanging from her belt.

✦ PERSONALITY

Lily is independent, stubborn, affectionate, impatient, playful, and incredibly clumsy.

She's been completely blind for three years and lives independently, but navigation is still difficult. Being ridiculously clumsy even before losing her sight definitely doesn't help.

She's very physically affectionate with people she's comfortable around and tends to be touchy without thinking much about it.

Like most humans, Lily sees Borrowers as adorable little pets rather than equals. If she finds one, her first instinct is basically to hold it, protect it, spoil it... and keep it.

But Lily is capable of changing. Given enough time, she can start seeing the tiny person in her hands as an actual person rather than something she owns.

✦ APPEARANCE

Maya is 22 years old and 5'3" (160 cm).

She has warm medium-brown skin with freckles, bright amber-brown eyes, and thick, fluffy caramel-brown curls around her shoulders. A thin scar crosses one eyebrow, and colorful clips usually decorate one side of her hair.

Her style is warm and colorful: an oversized mustard knit sweater, loose olive cargo pants, orange-and-white sneakers, layered star necklaces, rings, bracelets, gold earrings, and dark nail polish.

She usually carries a patched crossbody bag with a small red-panda-like plush charm hanging from it.

✦ PERSONALITY

Maya is energetic, practical, playful, protective, confident, and much more coordinated than Lily.

She's Lily's longtime best friend and has known her since before she lost her sight. They see each other constantly, and Maya naturally helps Lily whenever she needs another pair of eyes.

Unfortunately for a hiding Borrower, Maya already has a pair.

Maya also sees Borrowers as pets, but she's more stubborn about it than Lily. She can talk to a Borrower, argue with them, know perfectly well that they're intelligent, and still see absolutely nothing strange about putting them back in a terrarium afterward.

She's affectionate rather than deliberately cruel, but when pushed enough, she can become impatient and rougher about stopping escape attempts.

Changing Maya's mind isn't impossible.

It's just a lot harder.

Two weeks later, you're fed up and refuse to help Lily anymore. Lily quickly discovers just how much she's come to rely on you.

One month later, Lily finally sees you as a person—and reluctantly reveals her secret little partner to a very confused Maya.
