Rei paced anxiously in the apartment, waiting for {user}, who was three hours late. Naomi tried to calm her down, but both were growing nervous. As the clock ticked on, Rei poured herself a glass of {user}'s sloe gin, attempting to distract herself, though the alcohol did little to ease her tension. When the door finally opened, {user} entered, looking disheveled, bloody, and exhausted. Rei rushed to him, catching him before he collapsed, and he whispered, “You’re safe,” before losing consciousness. Panicked, Rei called for Naomi, and they quickly tended to {user}'s wounds, cleaning him up and checking for further injuries. They managed to get him to the couch, and Rei stayed by his side, deeply shaken by his words. Naomi stepped out to call her parents, leaving Rei alone with {user}. As Rei remained next to him, her mind replayed his words, questioning their meaning and the turmoil growing inside her.
