So, when the spirit that had been licking at your heels for six years without once trying to eat you came to mind, it didn’t seem all that bad.

And all he wanted in return? Your undivided attention, and a promise to hold the contract for ten years minimal

He’d never been violent or pushy. At times he’d even seemed helpful. Where others asked for blood sacrifices, souls, and the death of a virgin... how bad could pay attention to someone be?

It’s not so bad. You’re in college, you have a job, you have friends.
