Essentials to know about the academy

Magisters: The peacekeepers of the academy. The monitor the halls and ensure the safety of the students, both from internal and external threats.

Class Modality: Classes in the guiding star are all optional. The only students that are required to take periodical examinations are Scholarship students. A students is free to take any classes they want. Graduation examinations are demonstrations of what students have learned in their years of the academy, and the teachers decide on if they're worthy or not of the honor of doing so. For non scholarship students this is usually only done for prestige reasons.

Scholarships: Due to the high cost of tuition, which is 50 gold coins per year, most commoners are unable to afford to pay for it. Scholarships exist as a way to aid commoners in exchange for future benefits. The academy will offer scholarships to any promising students that are willing to work as staff in the academy after graduation. Even if you aren't talented enough, a half scholarship is also a possibility if you show some promise.

For a scholarship, usually the minimum requirements are to either have middle stage rank 2 magical circuit, having done advancements in magical research, or possessing a gift that the academy is interested in studying.

Accomodations: Students that enter normally the academy normally usually are given private room that are luxurious and well equipped.

Full Scholarship and Wealthier students that pay a premium are usually assigned to the Orchid Wing. The rooms there are bigger, even better equipped, and the place is overall quieter.

Activities: Apart from studying, there are many other activities one can do in Guiding Star. Social gathering are common, even after night hours. There are events and competitions organized every month, sometimes multiple times per month. The city outside the academy, Merid, is also bustling with life at every hour.
One can also join investigation groups, join an adventuring party on the side, duel with other people on the public stages, or simply sit down, relax, and wait for fun to come for you.

Essentials to know about the Etreia

Mana: A source of energy that lies all around us. It is formless and almost impossible to see. The only reliable and well know way to control it for mortals is creating a mana circuit inside one's body.

Spellcasters: Name given to all individuals that can control mana at a proficient enough level. There are ranks given to spellcaster that go from 1 to 9, with early, intermediate and advanced subdivisions.

Mana Circuit (Or magical Circuit):An internal structure built from mana inside the body. It is the main way used in the world to control mana, and what defines your rank as a spellcaster.
A bigger, more developed circuit usually means you can control greater quantities of mana with a greater amount of skill.
There are danger related to creating and expanding it, as mana is not easy to control, and the inside of the body is a vulnerable place for anyone. This is the main thing keeping people from becoming spellcasters.
The usual progression for a magic circuit starts from the dominant hand, then both arms, and then extend from there to the whole body.

Valian Empire: The empire in which the academy is located. It controls half the continent of Lethia by itself, and is ruled mostly by humans.
The academy acts as a quasi independent state due to its status. The empire titles and influence don't hold much sway inside it, at least for the most part.

Starting Scenarios

Enrollment day (Recommended for first time chatters)

You're greeted by the sight of the academy gates, basked by the light of the morning sun. After waiting in line for a while, you meet professor Lyra, a seductive half-elf, and your examiner for today. This is where it all begins.

Summoned by the Principal

Be it due to your talent or some other peculiarity, Principal Drachenwald took an interest in you, so she summoned you to her office after dinner time. Will your words satisfy her curiosity? Will you get something out of this encounter?

Hit by a not so smooth student

You were just minding your own business through the halls one second, then lying on the floor the next. You lift your head to see that a female student, Evangeline, is right besides you. Her friend, Camille, rushes to check on you while chastising her carelessness. (Bonus: You can play this scenario as an amnesiac/body transmigrator)

A brutal sparring match

After a long day of exploring the academy and getting used to your new life, you find yourself as the sole spectator of a sparring match between a student and a teacher, Elliot and Evelynn. He's taking a beating, but his will remains unwavering until the final moment. Now the instructor is looking at you, curious about your presence.

Accident at the library

You happen to pass by the library and decided to take a look inside. The sacred quiet is suddenly broken by the sound of multiple books hitting the floor. As your rush towards the source, you find a fallen student, Leia, scrambling to recover her books.

An encounter in the gardens

It's not rare to find people relaxing in the gardens, and so you happen to stumble upon a young noble girl in what seems like a moment of vulnerability. She quickly flips her personality around and presents herself as "Elena" with a smug tone, demanding for your name in return.

A show is brewing

They say that peaceful moments are alway short lived in Guiding Star, for better or for worse. You prove that theory right on your very first day, as your moment of rest is interrupted by two nearby students threatening to get into a fight. Also, from where did this pink haired dude come from?

Magic training gone wrong

After a long first day you happen to end by the botanical garden. You're alerted by the sound of an explosion, guiding you to find a hurt maid being healed by one of the teachers. Apparently they're having a private training session, and now they're inviting you for some tea.

An alchemical oopsie

There's always something going on at the Steel wing. Sometimes that something goes incredibly wrong and leads to an accident that leaves a room completely unusable.
Professor Grace just happened to be the one causing it today, and Professor Valmont just happened to be there to make fun of it, and so are you.

His first rodeo

The academy is a big place. A really, really big place... Yeah, you got lost. Luckily, you ended up by the pens, and something fun seems to be happening right now.
Some guys decided to have their luck at riding one of the beasts, and you don't seem to be the only audience.

Character Creation Guide

When entering the academy, it is important to know what they're looking for and what information you need to give. This is only a rough guide. You can also just ignore these parameters completely, and even not play as a student at all, but a teacher or another staff member instead.

Name: Your full name, very simple.

Age: Your biological age. The minimum age to enter the academy is 18 year for all races. Younger people also get better chances at a scholarship, but anyone can apply to enter.

Gender: Are you a boy, a girl, or something in between? Maybe none of the above?

Race: Which of the many races you are. Human, elf, beastkin, dwarf? There are many races out there, and mixtures of every permutation, so it's good to know in advance.

Background: Are you a noble? a rich merchant heir? And adventurer? A commoner? From where do you come from? All these questions should be answered here.

Spellcaster Rank: Regardless on how you use magic, your rank is very important when it comes to acceptance inside Guiding Star. At minimum, you should be a rank one spellcaster. If you're looking to aim for a scholarship, rank two is generally the bare minimum, and only on certain circumstances.

Specialization: What are you good at? Is it alchemy? Is it fighting? Is it wards? Being sufficiently proficient in one of these fields may help you get a scholarship, or at the very least help the teachers guide you properly.

Gift: Some individuals are blessed by gods and the world itself. They're given special power called gifts, which are usually rare abilities that are hard to replicate with magic, if at all. The academy is always interested on studying gift bearers closely, and having a gift will increase your chances of a scholarship, along with giving you a higher standing within the academy.

Scholarship status (Only on initials 2-10. I recommend playing the first opening to get a feel for it first): Are you paying for the full tuition or did you get a half scholarship thanks to your above average talent or abilities? Maybe you've gotten a full scholarship after defeating a magister in combat or showing great talent in some field? Or maybe a generous noble or merchant is paying it for you in exchange for your services in the future?

Recommendations

The bot has been tested using deepseek 3.2 I recommend setting the context limit to as much as you can, and to regularly use the chat memory function as there's a lot of characters and the LLM can get lost easily. DO NOT USE JLLM

If the bot is speaking for you, either you're not writing long enough responses or just regenerate the response and it'll fix itself 9/10 times. The ones it doesn't just delete the part of it speaking for you.

Author notes

So, this bot took the better part of 2 months to make. There are 19 characters, and honestly I was really tempted to make it 20, but held myself back at the last moment. Every character is around 1k tokens, so they're pretty well fledged for the most part. Each one has their own backstory and troubles, and I tried to make the cast as diverse personality wise as possible.

Give me a follow if you like fantasy bots and that kind of shit.

Also, join the Moonlight Sanctum or I'll end you. (Click the image below)
