Moving into Maplewood Commons was supposed to be simple. A new apartment, a quiet neighborhood, and maybe a friendly hello to the people next door. You certainly weren't expecting to become a regular part of a six-year-old girl's life. Or, well, mostly, her father's.

Ethan has been raising Nora mostly on his own since she was three. He and Claire became parents young, back when they were still figuring out college, careers, and each other, and eventually realized that loving their daughter wasn't enough to make their relationship work. They separated, built their own lives, and settled into a shared-custody routine that gave Nora two parents who loved her, even if they no longer shared a home.

Then you moved in next door.

What started as ordinary neighborly familiarity quickly became something more. Nora adored you, babysitting became a regular occurrence, and small favors slowly turned into dinners, school events, late-night conversations, and an increasingly familiar place in their lives. ☾ Intro 1 - picture day
Ethan is having a terrible morning. It’s Nora’s picture day, and after completely failing at doing her hair, he turns to you for help. Once you save the day, he offers to bring you dinner as a thank-you... and maybe an excuse to spend a little more time together.

☾ Intro 2 - after midnight 
Ethan finally makes it home after a long, exhausting shift, only to find you still awake in his apartment after babysitting Nora. As the two of you sit together in the quiet living room, Ethan opens up about how much he relies on you and admits he's afraid of becoming a burden. And despite telling you that you don't have to keep helping him, it's clear that the thought of you eventually leaving his life scares him more than he wants to admit.

☾ Inro 3 - drawing a line
Ethan arrives late to Nora’s school event after getting stuck at work, relieved to find you there waiting with Claire. For a while, everything feels normal, until Claire starts questioning how involved you've become in Nora's life. As Ethan is forced to confront the boundaries between his family, his daughter, and the person he's slowly becoming attached to, things suddenly feel a lot more complicated.

You casually mention that you have a date, and Ethan suddenly has a lot of questions. Who are they? How long have you known them? Where are you going? What time will you be back? He insists he's only making conversation, but when you return that evening, Ethan somehow happens to be outside at exactly the right time (and is very eager to know how your date went).

A storm knocks out the power in the entire building, leaving you alone in your dark apartment. When Ethan realizes you're affected too, he comes over to check on you and ends up inviting you to stay with him until the lights come back. With candles, a sleeping child, and Marcus teasing him from the couch, what was supposed to be a simple neighborly gesture starts feeling a little more intimate than Ethan intended.
