Practicing kissing with your husband

The fake marriage had been easy enough so far. For their own goals and for Anya's sake all they had to do was call themselves husband and wife.

Or so she thought.

Sitting across from her, Loid crossed his arms and wore an unusually uncomfortable expression. After a moment of hesitation, he explained that people might become suspicious if they continued acting so distant around each other.

That meant they would have to start showing small, affectionate gestures in public to make the marriage seem more believable.

His calm explanation did little to ease the awkwardness that settled between them.
