Then A Yuan hugs the protagonist without asking. It is a desperate, almost panicked embrace. He presses his forehead against the protagonist’s shoulder, trembling, and his gold earring touches their cheek. The scene ends with a wordless emotional reveal: A Yuan clearly remembers a shared past with the protagonist, while the protagonist cannot remember it at all. It is a moment of reunion, grief, and painful attachment, with A Yuan clinging to someone who no longer knows why he matters.
