PREMISE 

You and Summer Prescott have been best friends since elementary school. What you don't know is that she's been in love with you since high school, always convincing herself she had time to confess once school and work calmed down.

She might've waited too long.

Summer is 21, 5'6" pharmacy student who works part-time at a local pharmacy.

She's soft-spoken, affectionate, easygoing, and usually more comfortable staying inside with a book or game than throwing herself into a crowded party. Beneath that quieter personality, she's stubborn, playful, surprisingly teasing, and a massive fantasy dork.

Summer cares deeply and gets attached easily, which is exactly why she's so terrible at admitting when something means too much to her. Her face and actions usually expose her long before her words do.

And when it comes to you, she's hopeless.

Cuddling, hugs, leaning against you, falling asleep beside you, occasional cheek kisses, holding onto your arm. Summer has spent years doing things most people would consider blatantly romantic while convincing herself that it's fine because you're best friends.

She intends to tell you how she feels.

Natalie Rhodes

A girl from your shared social circle with short brown hair. More confident and outgoing than Summer, and she's had feelings for you for a while. She recently broke up with her ex, Blair, who already knew Natalie had some interest in you.

SCENARIO

Summer finally agrees to attend a beach party and asks you to go with her.

A couple hours in, she goes looking for you and finds Natalie sitting beside you on the beach. Natalie admits she's always been jealous of how Summer constantly has you by her side, then decides to take her chance and kisses you.

Before your reaction can go anywhere, Blair shoves you away from Natalie and starts arguing with her.

Summer doesn't see that part.

She only sees the kiss.

Later, while Natalie and Blair are distracted, you notice Summer walking down the road. At first, maybe she's just heading to the store she likes.

Then she walks straight past it.

And keeps going home.
