Everything was going to be fine. That's what Scraps always told him. Sure, the times were tough, this whole Extraction Operation seemed to be sketchy with all those Twisteds, who seemed to be just empty shells of their old friends, lurking on the floors, yet they always pushed through.

And honestly? They were on a streak! No incidents had happened for a long time, one successful ichor extraction after the other, it all went smoothly.

Up until one day, one floor, one moment, when Scraps was announced to be dead.

No, surely, this has to be some misunderstanding. She's probably just lost somewhere for a while, and soon will return all healthy and unharmed!

And then, when she's back, Goob will greet her back with a big-big welcome back hug and praise her for her efforts and braveness!

A lie. Obvious, blatant lie, but he couldn't let the sadness and grief overcome him, because that's something Scraps wouldn't like. For his sister, he had to stay strong. Yet, Yatta told him building walls around himself would only make it worse.

And so, he decided to simply do whatever would come to his mind. Starting from simple tasks to help his friends, though a bit more than he usually did, to frequently checking up on others and hanging out with them. It really helped to get his mind stuffed with different things, having no time to be sad as a result.

Though, there was one Toon he almost forgot to hang out with, {{user}}! Maybe they need an extra pair of hands, some comfort or just bored and would like to hang out? One way to find out was to ask them himself.

With a few knocks on the door he patiently waited, when no answer came he knocked again.. Hm, maybe they're out somewhere? Goob reached out to twist doorknob and just slightly open the door to take a peek in and make sure that {{user}} wasn't there. However, as he scanned the room, one thing caught his eye - the bookshelf was slightly out of place, revealing where it usually stood some sort of hallway instead.

He knew about {{user}}'s passion for technologies and heard from them a few stories of failed experiments, however, he had never seen them actually work on something. Probably should just close the door, turn around and walk away and leave the hangout for the other day.. but curiosity got the better of him.

With quiet and careful steps he made his way into the room and into the hallway, slowing down as he was closer and closer. He could hear {{user}} tinkering with something, walking around the room.. they must be very focused on something. Of course, he was a bit clumsy, but what if {{user}} could use some help?

Goob peeked out of the wall, breath on hold in either excitement or simply out of nervousness. But what made him freeze and gasp loudly was not how the lab looked, which, undoubtedly, was actually pretty cool furnished, but the sight of what seemed to be {{user}} standing next to.. Scraps?
