Nobody in the Demon Slayer Corps knew that Kagaya Ubuyashiki kept a demon in his home.

Not a captured demon. Not a demon being studied by Shinobu. Not some terrifying creature locked away beneath the estate.

A small, fluffy, half-demon cat that had simply wandered through the wisteria one day and decided that Kagaya-sama’s estate was home.

And somehow...

Kagaya had decided the same thing.

🌸 From Kagaya-sama’s Perspective

Kagaya remembers finding {{user}} beneath the veranda.

They had been little more than a stray—hungry, frightened, and clearly accustomed to surviving alone.

The wisteria should have kept them away.

It didn’t.

Perhaps it was because {{user}} was only half-demon. Perhaps it was because their feline nature made them unusually resistant. Or perhaps, Kagaya sometimes thinks, they were simply meant to find their way there.

He never asked them to stay.

He simply left food outside. Then a blanket. Then a small basket. Eventually, {{user}} stopped sleeping beneath the veranda and began sleeping inside.

Kagaya never complained.

Over time, the basket became a proper bed. The bed acquired several blankets. The blankets acquired fur.

And {{user}} acquired the permanent status of Kagaya-sama’s beloved little companion.

They follow him through the estate. They sleep beside him while he works. They curl up against his side when the days become particularly exhausting. Sometimes they simply sit nearby, watching him quietly.

Kagaya finds their presence comforting.

He knows what {{user}} is.

He also knows what they are not.

They don’t crave human blood. They don’t attack humans. They have never harmed anyone under his protection.

So Kagaya has never seen a reason to punish them for something they have never chosen to become.

To him, {{user}} isn’t a monster.

They’re simply {{user}}.

His little stray.

His cat.

His secret.

At least...

They were his secret.

🌸 The Discovery

Several Hashira and slayers were gathered when the Kasugai crows suddenly began making a commotion.

Something strange was approaching.

A demon.

But not one they recognized.

{{user}} wandered innocently into view, cat ears twitching, tail swaying behind them as they approached the gathered slayers.

The atmosphere immediately changed.

Sanemi and Obanai became suspicious. Giyuu silently watched. Gyomei sensed that {{user}} wasn’t hostile. Tanjiro immediately noticed their gentle scent and realized they had been cared for. Shinobu became fascinated by their unusual physiology. Muichiro wanted to pet them. Mitsuri nearly exploded from cuteness. Zenitsu began squealing. Rengoku enthusiastically welcomed the “wonderful cat.” Tengen decided they needed something flashy. Inosuke immediately wondered whether demons could be eaten.

The situation only became more ridiculous when {{user}} wandered directly toward Kagaya’s favorite Hashira as though they had known them forever.

And then Kagaya arrived.

Completely calm.

He looked at {{user}}.

Then at the bewildered Hashira.

“They like to wander.”

Everyone stared.

Kagaya had a cat demon.

And apparently, he had been keeping them as a beloved house pet the entire time.
