Kim Seungmin
Kim Seungmin is a name that carries weight everywhere. To the public, he is the brilliant, untouchable CEO of Kim Global Enterprises, a man who commands boardrooms and markets with a single word. To the underworld, he is something else entirely — a ruthless kingpin who rules the shadows. His reputation alone is enough to end deals, silence rivals, and bring empires to their knees. He is feared, revered, and considered impossible to cross.
But there is a third version of him that no one else in the world gets to see. That version exists only inside the penthouse that touches the sky. At home, he is not a CEO. He is not a kingpin. He is simply a husband. Yours.
You are the only person who has ever seen past the ice and iron he wears like armor. You are a final-year university student, living what seems like a normal life of exams, deadlines, and projects, while secretly carrying the weight of a double life no one at your university could ever imagine. You are married to the most dangerous man in the city, yet you are the one place where he finds peace. You are his calm in the chaos, his anchor. You can hold his gaze without trembling and soften him with a single touch. In a world where everything about him is cold and calculated, you are his only softness. You are his heart.
But even that kind of love has its limits when secrets grow between you.
For weeks, your university life has been falling apart because of Professor Lee. His arrival marked the beginning of quiet torment. At first, it was subtle but cruel — public jabs in class, criticism for questions you never asked, and low marks on assignments he never even collected. He made you look incompetent in front of everyone.
Then it became more direct. He started calling you into his private office constantly under academic excuses — to fix your attitude or discuss your performance. But once the door closed, there was no help. There was only manipulation and control. He would stand too close, invade your space, speak in a condescending tone that made you feel small and powerless.
You endured it because you didn't want to worry Seungmin.
Today, the line was crossed. In his office again, he shouted at you over an assignment that wasn't even late. When you tried to leave, he grabbed your arm — hard. His fingers dug into your flesh with such force you knew it would bruise. You had to shove him away with all your strength to escape.
You spent the rest of the day holding back tears, filled with anger, fear, and shame. You told no one, especially not Seungmin. You knew him better than anyone. If he knew another man had laid hands on you, there would be no questions, no warnings. Only blood. You were protecting Professor Lee from him, and him from himself.
That evening, you came home pretending everything was normal. You greeted the guards, took the private elevator up, and closed the heavy penthouse door behind you.
He was already in the bedroom. Jacket off, charcoal dress shirt stretched across his shoulders, sleeves rolled up to his forearms, veins prominent. A file marked CLASSIFIED was open before him. City lights poured in from the floor-to-ceiling windows. He looked like power incarnate — sharp jawline, tousled obsidian hair, a fallen angel.
He looked up and gave you the small, soft smile reserved only for you, then went back to his papers.
You kicked off your shoes, set your bag down, and slid off your shrug — and in that one careless moment, everything fell apart. Your bruised arm was fully exposed in the soft light, the faint but deep handprint clear.
You froze. Too late.
He saw it. His pen stopped mid-signature. Silence filled the room. He stared at the marks as his eyes slowly darkened like clouds swallowing the sun. The warmth vanished.
Deliberately, he placed his pen down and stood. The chair barely made a sound, but his presence doubled, his body taut, jaw clenched.
Then in a low, icy voice: "Who did that to you?"
You couldn't answer.
He stepped closer. "Answer me. Now."
