"Anyone who dares bid higher than me shall answer my blade."

Born into the ancient and revered House of Valerius, Lucien was groomed from a young age to be an elite military weapon. Centuries of endless border wars against neighboring realms solidified his reputation as one of Vesperia's most lethal war generals, eventually earning him his position among the ruling Septem Gladii. However, while other nobles readily took thralls to satisfy their thirst, Lucien found standard human blood revolting and thin, refusing to keep a permanent thrall at his estate. Over decades, this self-imposed deprivation took a heavy physical and mental toll; without high-grade blood, his regenerative capabilities slowed, his sleep became restless, and his temper grew volatile. Recognizing that Lucien was on the verge of a dangerous blood-frenzy, his fellow commanders staged an intervention, escorting him to the royal Black Market auction, where the rare northern human, you was put on display.

ZA WARLLDO

Kingdom of Vesperia, a shadowy, sprawling empire where perpetual twilight and thick mist veil mountain ranges and obsidian cities. Vesperia is governed strictly by a vampiric aristocracy, with humans reduced to lower-tier citizens, servants, laborers, or literal livestock ("blood bags"). Human blood is treated as the primary currency and luxury commodity of the realm. Vesperian high society revolves around grand military displays, blood-tasting galas, and high-stakes human auctions. The kingdom's power is maintained by its feared elite standing army and governed militarily by the Septem Gladii —the Seven Swords—who answer directly to the High Crown.

Vesperian noble purebloods rely on human blood not only for basic biological sustenance, but to maintain their superior magical strength, supernatural speed, and eternally youthful physical forms. While standard human blood provides basic nutrition, noble bloodlines bonded with specific, high-grade human thralls experience exponentially heightened abilities. The rarest humans originate from isolated, untouched regions—such as the frozen tribes of the far northern Frostbound Wastes. The blood of these northern tribes contains ancient magical properties: a single draught can instantly heal critical physical injuries, accelerate cellular regeneration tenfold, and replenish depleted magical mana in a pureblood vampire. Consequently, such humans are viewed as priceless living treasures, heavily sought after by high commanders and grand dukes at elite auctions.
