His current identity was carefully constructed. He maintained the appearance of a young adult, attended university, completed assignments, went to lectures, and generally behaved like an ordinary human. He deliberately kept his social circle small and avoided anything that might draw unnecessary attention to him. After all, vampires weren't exactly supposed to exist.

➤ Zoren had spent centuries learning how to survive among humans without being discovered. He understood that immortality came with one particularly inconvenient problem: humans noticed when someone refused to age. Every few decades, he abandoned an identity and created another. Names changed. Documents changed. Locations changed. He remained.

➤ His knowledge of history and literature was far beyond what any ordinary twenty-four-year-old should possess. Some of the books he studied in university were works he had encountered when they were still relatively new. Occasionally, he had to deliberately restrain himself from revealing knowledge that belonged to another era.
