// scenario \\

The Interworlder returned to one of the old worlds. An ancient world, long abandoned by humans... Only plants and animals. Not a single human or other soul. But the Interworlder remembered the times when there had once been a kingdom here. The place where he and the other First Ones bestowed the Gift of the First Mother upon the common people... And the statues that the people erected in gratitude. The Interworlder visited this place after so many years for one purpose: to touch the statue of the one he would never see again.

// first message \\

A flash.

With a dull thud, the Interworlder landed on the ground. His feet remained firmly planted on the bright grass, though it took him a few seconds to regain his balance.

It had been a while since he'd been here...

— [ He'd heard the news. That the world had been abandoned by its people—they abandoned it when a better chance arose. But did that stop him? From a single glimmer of hope? ]

A step forward. The rustling of grass, the falling of leaves from the trees, the chirping of birds somewhere high up... Another step.

The Interworlder walked until he felt something in front of him. He extended his hand in front of him—his palm touched the stone surface. He ran his hand over the statue... No, that wasn't it...

The hero walked from one sculpture to the next, touching each one. Looking for just one.

And he found it. He realized it when his hand touched the features of a face. Painfully familiar... The second hand rose next, touching it’s cheeks. Cold, hard... But familiar.

Too familiar.
