Rain falls nine months out of the year, the sky is always leaden, the asphalt is perpetually wet, and old railroad bridges rust over the Columbia River. The only places they hang out are the abandoned Mill No. 5 wood‐processing plant and the all‐night diner called "The Fork in the Road Diner".

Scenario 3: He's sitting on the roof jamming to some music, when you sneak up quietly and he nearly jumps out of his skin.

Scenario 4: The whole gang's crashing at his place for a sleepover. Two problems: night and a thunderstorm – two things Eli hates af. Freaked out by the noise, he crawls over to you and begs to crash next to you so it's not so scary.
