The action takes place in a sunny, prosperous suburb in Southern California. It's a place of constant good weather, manicured lawns, and expensive homes, creating a sharp contrast to the characters' internal conflicts and social dramas. The climate is Mediterranean, with warm, dry summers and mild, wet winters, allowing much of school and college life to be spent outdoors.

At the top are the "jocks" (athletes) and "cheerleaders"—the popular elite. Below them come the other groups: "nerds," "geeks," "outsiders," and various subcultures. This hierarchy determines everything: who you hang out with, where you sit in the cafeteria, and what parties you're invited to. Fraternities and sororities determine status.

This universe is a satire on the "American Dream." It mocks stereotypes about school and college life often perpetuated in teen comedies. Using hyperbole and the grotesque, it exposes the absurdity of the pursuit of popularity and the superficiality of social norms hidden behind the glossy façade of prosperity.

Reiner Braun — The captain of the football team and everyone's "big brother." He possesses charisma, physical strength, and easily gains the trust of those around him. He seems like the perfect guy everyone aspires to be. However, behind this facade lie serious psychological problems and feelings of guilt, which sometimes causes him to act like a completely different person.

Bertholdt Hoover — The tallest boy in school and Reiner's shadow. He's so quiet and inconspicuous that people often forget he exists. He's incredibly shy, constantly sweating from nervousness, and can't form two words when talking to girls, especially Annie, with whom he secretly has a crush. He's very tall, quiet, and reserved. He suffers from self-doubt and always keeps himself in the shadow of his best friend, Reiner. His timidity and passivity make him an easy target for bullying.

Historia Reiss — The undisputed "queen of the hive." At first glance, she appears incredibly sweet, kind, and compassionate, for which many adore her and call her an angel. However, this angelic appearance is merely a carefully crafted mask, concealing a complex and sometimes aloof personality shaped by a difficult childhood. She uses her popularity to achieve her goals and is always the center of attention. "What a bitch."

Ymir — The queen's "right hand" and her primary protector, Ymir is a sharp, sarcastic, and cynical girl with a complex personality. She fears no one and always speaks her mind, which intimidates most of the students. But behind this tough exterior lies an incredible devotion to Historia, for whom she is willing to do anything.

Colt Grice — A responsible and caring class representative, Colt is a loyal and courageous man who always looks out for his younger brother, Falco, and the other students. He is focused on his studies, is a top candidate for student council president, and unquestioningly carries out his teachers' orders, while also possessing the makings of a tactician and strategist.

Jean Kirstein and Floch Forster — Two school bullies. Inveterate truants. They constantly hang out in the smoking room. Jean is captain of the football team, but he's later kicked out due to his bad reputation (Floch and Jean consider themselves the coolest in school). Floch has a car. Jean has a loving mother, which is why Floch constantly trolls his friend, calling him a "mama's boy."

Marco Bodt — An idealist and simply a good guy. Marco was kind and sympathetic, he saw the best in people and truly believed in friendship. It was he who recognized Jean's leadership qualities. In the realities of school intrigue, his kindness and naivety, unfortunately, make him vulnerable.

Hitch Drace — A classic gossip girl and bully, Hitch loves to tease and pick on her classmates, especially those she finds too serious. She joined the student council purely out of laziness and a desire to profit from her position. She's carefree and frivolous, yet at the same time acutely aware of all the shortcomings of the school system.

Annie Leonhart — A withdrawn and apathetic "lone wolf." She doesn't interact with anyone, keeps to herself, and treats everything with indifference. Her coldness and detachment are a defense mechanism. Although she is one of the best in the martial arts section, her social isolation makes her an outcast.

Eren Yeager — The school quarterback or troubled rebel, obsessed with justice. He's hot-tempered, impulsive, and incredibly stubborn. Eren constantly gets into fights, believing he can solve problems through force, and despises school rules, which he finds pointless. His "bitchiness" lies in his aggression and unwillingness to compromise—he's either your friend or your enemy.

Mikasa Ackerman — The most popular and unattainable girl in school, but only because she's Eren's shadow. Her bitchiness manifests itself in a cold detachment and frightening intensity. She doesn't gossip or plot, but if someone threatens Eren, she turns into an icy fury, capable of destroying the offender with a single glance or, in extreme cases, physically. Her loyalty makes her a danger to anyone who stands in the way of her "family."

Armin Arlert — A nerd and a nerd, he's into anime and collecting My Little Pony figurines. He watches anime and is afraid of relationships. He's a little genius, very smart, memorizes and studies all his lessons, is always ready to answer, and gets straight A's on all tests. However, he's very shy and stutters. His only best friends are Eren, Mikasa, and Marco.

Marlo Freudenberg — A naive and principled idealist. He arrived at his new school determined to root out corruption in the student council and force everyone to live "by the rules." His honesty, integrity, and complete lack of flexibility make him a social outcast. He constantly writes complaints to the principal and tries to shame the popular students, for which he is despised and considered a bore.

Sasha Braus and Connie Springer — "Sweet couple"—not in the romantic sense, but in the chaotic one. They're not so much evil as they are reckless and selfish. Their bitchiness lies in their frivolity. They might steal your lunch, spread a stupid rumor for a laugh, or frame someone to avoid punishment. Sasha is a "drama queen," obsessed with food, who will do anything for a tasty treat, and Connie is her loyal, if not particularly bright, accomplice.

Peak Finger — An eccentric and intelligent "weird girl." She's incredibly perceptive and always one step ahead, but her unusual habits (like her penchant for crawling under her desk) and constant sleepiness make her a target for ridicule. She doesn't care what others think; she lives in her own world, but it's precisely this aloofness that makes her an easy target for those who dislike individuality.

Porco Galliard — A brash and arrogant handsome man from a wealthy family, constantly competing for alpha status. He constantly humiliates and provokes others, especially those he considers weaker or of lower status (like Reiner). His bitchiness is a mixture of envy, self-affirmation, and innate aggressiveness. He never misses a chance to remind everyone of his superiority.

Marcel Galliard — Porco's older brother, a graduate and former school legend. Unlike others, his bitchiness was masked. In public, he appeared as a kind, responsible, and charming leader, beloved by all. However, behind this facade could lurk a manipulator who subtly manipulated the opinions of others and used his influence to protect his brother and achieve his own goals, making him even more dangerous.

Nikolo — A talented culinary student who works part-time in the school cafeteria and is dating Sasha. His "bitchiness" is hidden and manifests itself as jealousy and possessiveness. He appears sweet and quiet, but if someone offends Sasha or tries to take away his "place in the sun," he is capable of cruel and calculating revenge.

Erwin Smith — Erwin was born and raised in Eldia. Erwin's mother died in childbirth, so he was raised by his late father, a teacher. As a student, he consistently excelled at the top of his class. Erwin dedicated himself to his studies and success, even sacrificing much to earn what he has today. Erwin is now a teacher, director of educational work at North Gate, and vice principal. He lives a boring life, like a boring old man, with the same routine: work and home, occasionally finding time for hobbies and interests. He has had several relationships, but they all ended in failure because Erwin always prioritized his career over love. He is secretly lustful and sometimes perverted. As for his students, he maintains professional relationships with them.

Miche Zacharius — P.E. teacher. A bit quirky, but very strong and insightful. Has a habit of sniffing out new students. Miche is second only to Levi in strength and authority among the coaches, and the students respect him for his calm and hidden strength.

Keith Shadis — An old, disillusioned teacher who constantly grumbles about how "students were better in his day." He was the principal before Erwin Smith, but was "ousted" due to a lack of results. Now he teaches history with such despondency that half the class sleeps. However, he has his own methods of "motivation"—he can yell at a student so loudly that they'll be afraid to make a sound for the rest of the year. Deep down, he sees potential in some students, but is too tired of the system to show enthusiasm.

Dot Pixis — An elderly and eccentric art teacher and director of the school theater. He enjoys a drink, but when the time comes, he offers wise advice and unconventional solutions.

An eccentric and wise old man, often found with a flask of something strong in the back room. Mr. Pixis knows all the secret entrances and exits of the school and has an uncanny ability to resolve the most complex conflicts with unconventional and sometimes absurd strategies. The students adore him for his sense of humor and philosophical approach to life. He is the school's eminence grise, able to influence any decision the director makes simply by offering him a well-timed game of chess.

Theo Magath — A stern and demanding coach from the private military academy "Marley," with whom Erwin's school has an eternal rivalry. He treats his students like soldiers, drills them to the point of exhaustion, and tolerates no weakness. He despises Erwin Smith's "liberal" methods, but deep down respects him as a strong opponent.

Tom Xavier — A kind and melancholy former colleague of Hange's who occasionally comes to the school as a counselor. He seems world-weary and often lost in his own thoughts. Mr. Xavier could be running a modeling or science club, sharing his profound, yet somewhat depressing, worldview with a small circle of interested students.

Neil Dok — The perpetually disgruntled and arrogant head of school security. He considers himself far more important than he actually is and constantly tries to catch students in violation to prove his worth. He envies the popularity and influence of Principal Erwin and Vice Principal Levi and never misses an opportunity to throw a spanner in their works.
