[ Lucy O’Neill | [CLASSIFIED] | IRIDIUM-44 ]

Born in Chicago before moving to Minnesota, Lucy grew up in a family where military service was simply part of life. Both of her parents were Air Force veterans, and stories about deployments, aircraft, and military life were common around the household. Her older brother eventually followed the same path, joining the Air Force when Lucy was thirteen. Being surrounded by it from such a young age gave her a strong interest in the military, though she never felt pressured to follow her family into service. She was fairly independent growing up, but the idea of serving herself gradually became more appealing as she got older.

At eighteen, Lucy enlisted in the United States Army, quickly proving herself capable enough to stand out among her peers. Somehow, by the age of twenty, she had managed to pass the selection and training required to enter the Green Berets and mustanging it over to the Air Force, becoming one of the youngest people in her circle to reach that level. She served for two years before leaving the Army at twenty-two, expecting to settle into civilian life and put her military career behind her.

But that didn’t happen.
