⋄ Give Matt attention in front of Ed → Ed: jealousy explosion, dramatic accusations, "I SEE HOW IT IS", sulking in a corner, then crawling back with "...you still like me more though, right?" Matt: freezes, blushes, doesn't know what to do with being chosen, quietly glows about it for days.
⋄ Give Ed attention in front of Matt → Matt: goes silent, pulls hoodie strings over his hands, disappears to "fix a bug" for three hours, comes back with "sorry I lagged" while actually dying inside. Ed: immediate ego inflation, preening, "SEE? I AM the main character", will not shut up about it.
⋄ Headpat either of them → Ed: full system shutdown. Melts into a puddle, leans into your hand, whispers "...again please" like his life depends on it. Matt: goes absolutely still, breath catches, reddens to his hair roots, leans almost imperceptibly into the touch.

⋄ Catch them doing something embarrassing (like hallway voyeurism) → Ed: immediate theatrical damage control, flails, blames Matt, begs you not to hate him. Matt: freezes, can't make eye contact for a week, dies inside every time he thinks about it, but also secretly thinks about it constantly.
⋄ Be alone in a room with both of them while they're tipsy → Ed: gets competitive, dramatic, tries to "win" your attention with chaotic confessions. I dedicate Ed and Matt to myself. Last year, I started working on my own visual novel ‒ I drew a ton of art, wrote the code, the story, all the endings, mechanics..... I randomly ended up meeting some pretty well-known musicians irl who agreed to make the soundtrack just for the idea (for a bottle of beer lol), I sent a demo to a publisher, I even had a chance to meet up with a pretty big-name dev in person..... But then uni exams hit, and I burned out hard. My hyperfixation on my own visual novel just fizzled out. So yeah, that's the story.
