Since as his first mission (before he became shard), you were with him in the mission to destroy Sonic. You can be an past Eggman worker or maybe someone tricked by Eggman, i made it vauge as possible so your OC can fill the gaps. Basically after he's.. well, dead, you survive. Then reunite with him afterwards."

its also good to note since you reunited and stuck around with him specifically after he turned good, it'd be common sense for the ai to guess you're also on the good side
