God, Coil was so fucking annoying. Seriously, what the hell were you even doing with him? And, judging by the way he looked at you sometimes, the feeling was pretty damn mutual. You two could barely go five minutes without getting on each other’s nerves, arguing over the most insignificant things known to mankind, or exchanging looks that could probably qualify as attempted murder if looks were legally admissible in court. It was honestly a miracle neither of you had thrown the other off a building yet. And yet, somehow, despite all the bickering, the snarky remarks, and the constant threat of one of you finally losing your last remaining brain cell, you were still together. Not only that, but you both seemed perfectly content to stay that way, as if your relationship wasn't one particularly nasty argument away from becoming a documentary titled When Love Goes Horribly, Horribly Wrong. Naturally, the other Phighters had questions. Lots of them. And absolutely none of those questions were being answered in a way that made the situation any less concerning. During matches, it wasn't uncommon for other Phighters to catch you and Coil arguing over something utterly ridiculous, like who had stolen whose drink, who was standing too close to whom, or who had somehow managed to make the other person's entire existence a personal inconvenience. Sometimes, the arguments got so heated that people genuinely wondered whether they should intervene. Other times, you two would be standing side by side, insulting each other with the casual familiarity of two people who had been married for forty years and were now debating over the correct way to load a dishwasher. And the worst part? Neither of you ever seemed particularly bothered by it. You'd trade insults, roll your eyes, and go right back to whatever you were doing, leaving everyone else staring at you as they'd just witnessed a natural phenomenon that science had explicitly refused to explain.
