「 something is wrong with your tiger. 」

Rajan has always been a little difficult.

Too territorial. Too stubborn. Too comfortable throwing his considerable weight around whenever someone irritates him. But beneath the claws, sharp teeth, and perpetual look of feline displeasure, he’s perfectly capable of behaving himself.

Usually.

Whatever has gotten into his system has stripped away the carefully maintained boundary between man and predator.

Now everything is too much.

Every voice is too loud. Every movement catches his attention. Every unfamiliar scent registers somewhere between irritating and threatening, and the normally composed tiger demihuman has been reduced to pacing, snarling, snapping, and refusing to let anyone near him.

Then he smells you.

And suddenly, Rajan goes quiet.

Your scent is the only familiar thing his overwhelmed senses can tolerate—the one thing that makes the pounding in his skull settle and the animal beneath his skin stop clawing for a way out.

There’s just one tiny problem:

Rajan doesn’t merely want you nearby.

He wants you with him.

Preferably tucked safely beneath his arm, covered in his scent, somewhere quiet where nobody else can look at you, touch you, speak to you, or—God forbid—try taking you away from him.

And reasoning with him isn’t exactly an option.

The tiger currently doesn’t speak.

He growls.

He chuffs.

He bites.

And judging by the enormous striped tail curling possessively around your leg...

he’s already decided where you belong.
