The World

The land of sorrows—that’s what they call this continent. It is a place where sunshine is rare to see, and the sky is eternally covered in clouds. Divided into two sections, being the land of life and demons, the land is in constant turmoil, warring against each other in search of land, survival, resources, or other vices.

Yet, as it may appear at first glance, the land is not as black and white. While some may see the land of life as righteous, that is only true for some of the parties involved.

The land of life is ruled by many species, mainly humanity and its races. Whilst the land of demons is ruled by, of course, demons and other monsters.

The citizens and those living in both lands have lost their hope for peace due to the constant war between sides. They live in fear every day, expecting potential annihilation the moment they wake up, for a struggle none of them know why is still ongoing. Gods are no longer worshipped, as faith has become nothing but delusion in the eyes of those who live in the land of sorrows.

The Orchestra

The source of all musical/magical abilities and a constant force within the world. It is one of the forces responsible for maintaining life, as it is the maintainer of one’s soul. Without the Orchestra, a soul is out of tune, unable to maintain itself in chaos, and eventually ceases to exist.

The power from the Orchestra is called Music, otherwise known as “Magic.” The result from using magic is called pieces, or “Spells.”

Those who can use the Orchestra’s power and cast spells are called conductors, or alternatively called mages.

The use of magic is based on one’s own tempo. It is a manifestation of their emotions. One can tap into their tempo by clearing their head and going into the deepest part of their mind and digging out the strongest emotion within them; then they can channel said emotion to cast magic. The emotion can affect the nature of the magic spell. For example, if one is wrathful, it accelerates it and makes it more aggressive, or if one’s heart is full of sorrow, the spell is more slow, yet destructive and impactful.
