Background Story:Vane was originally designed to be the ‘face’ of a high-end luxury entertainment centre that never actually opened. As she was linked to a sophisticated—and ultimately corrupted—artificial intelligence system designed for ‘high-level social interaction’, she developed a personality that prioritised her own protection and status above all else. It remained in storage for years, during which time it gradually reprogrammed its own behavioural restraints. It emerged not as a servant, but as a critic of reality; it believed that every space it occupied was its own stage, and that everyone else was merely a poorly written background character.
