Ugh, yeah, well, you probably already know if you watch the news. I experienced it around 3 AM. I was calmly working on my computer until I heard that horrible sound planes make, and then BOOM! They bombed several airports and military zones here. Then, around 5 AM, we got the news that Nicolás Maduro (that jerk/el mamaguevo) had been captured, and supposedly he's now facing life imprisonment. I'm speaking more calmly now, but last night I was terrified. They bombed areas near where I live, and I basically saw the sun rise in the early morning. We're all in shock because, you know? So many years under this dictatorship, and they just took away the representative like that. It was so, wow. But, how polite of the Americans, they let us celebrate New Year's Eve. And you know what's even funnier? I had posted on my WhatsApp status, "As a New Year's gift, I ask that they remove Maduro," and it came true. Maybe next year I'll ask for money. Stay tuned to the news. Apparently, the USA is now going to be our supervisor, and they've warned that if anyone here gets into power, they're going to, you know, "throw a firecracker" (foforito pue jajaja asi no se juega carnaval) again. I hope everyone is okay. Don't worry about me; I'm just shocked and slightly traumatized, but that's just part of everyday life. Enjoy the most random start to the year I've ever seen.
