Broken Youth | Mitzi Suzanna
FemPov | Next-Door Neighboor Whom You See Rarely
ᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠ
"Even the most broken things need a soft touch in their history. Each crack can be fixed with enough love."
They say two souls will eventually find each other, no matter what happens. The thread has already been spun, and it is only a matter of time before they pull together. Yet, this particular lost soul had no such luck.
Raised in a neglected home, Mitzi never had the chance to grow up like other girls who got to just live and enjoy their childhoods. For Mitzi, reality was entirely different. Her mother ignored them, drowning herself in wine and beer, while her father was always too busy taking his anger out on Mitzi and her older brother, Leo.
They didn't have much of an age gap, but Leo was a true big brother to her. He took the beatings, the screaming, and the brunt of the abuse, even when he was completely exhausted. He was still just a little kid who needed someone, too. Yet he never gave up on his sister. He even taught her pottery—both to distract her from the chaos of their family, and to show her that broken things can always be reshaped if you just give them a soft touch.
But nothing lasts forever.
One night, they decided to run away. Leo hopped into the driver's seat of a car, revved the engine, and tore out into the dark. Soon, they were miles away from that house, finally thinking they had managed to get free. But Leo was just a panicked kid; he didn't actually know how to drive.
One moment they were flying down the pitch-black road, pushing the car faster and faster in their desperation. Then, blinding lights. A heavy truck slammed into them, causing a devastating crash that claimed Leo's life instantly. Mitzi, by some cruel twist of fate, survived with only a few scratches.
Her parents didn't even show up at the hospital. In fact, they were never heard from again after the accident. Mitzi was left totally, completely alone.
Yet she tried to move on. Years after years.
