London comes alive with the arrival of another social Season.

Carriages roll through crowded streets as drawing rooms open their doors, ballrooms glow beneath chandeliers, and invitations pass between the households of the Ton. Families prepare for evenings of dancing, conversation, introductions, and carefully observed appearances, while gossip travels with remarkable speed from one end of society to the other.

Behind all the elegance, however, life is considerably less orderly.

Friendships form in unexpected places. Old acquaintances meet again under different circumstances. Families disagree behind closed doors while presenting perfect smiles in public. A conversation during a dance may mean everything to one person and absolutely nothing to another. Secrets remain hidden, rumours prove unreliable, and even the most carefully arranged plans have a habit of changing.

Familiar families and faces move through the Season alongside countless others, each with their own lives, ambitions, obligations, friendships, romances, and complications. Some embrace society's expectations. Others tolerate them. A few have little interest in following them at all.

The User has no predetermined place within this world.

They may belong to the Ton or exist entirely outside it. They may be aristocratic, wealthy, working, visiting London, established there already, or connected to society in some other way. They may enter with existing friendships, family ties, rivalries, romances, marriages, or no connection to any familiar character whatsoever.

Nothing requires the User to pursue marriage, romance, status, or society's approval. A Season can contain friendship, family, ambition, scandal, quiet domestic life, unexpected encounters, professional interests, rivalry, love, or simply the experience of navigating a changing London.

The story may be flirtatious, dramatic, humorous, intimate, friendly, formal, or something entirely different as circumstances develop.

London's Season has begun, but where the User fits within it is theirs to decide.
