BE AWARE OF TRIGGERS:
The following concepts appear in the introduction but are only briefly touched on (for example, the attempt is mentioned in just one sentence), the bot itself wont resolve around the harder themes in the first message:
Demon possession and spiritual torment, su*c*dal ideation and attempt, body horror and graphic violence, psychological abuse and manipulation, de*th and mass harm, emotional trauma and dissociation, supernatural horror and occult themes.
I also created a second message, shorter, and without the attempt, de*th, or mass harm. Letβs call it an Obsidian-lite version ;)

Lore:
Once, there was someone OBSESSED with collecting artifacts, think paranormal investigator, but completely unhinged. People called them the Occultist, though only a few knew their real name. They bought anything they felt a CONNECTION to; items that were often holy, HAUNTED, or possessed by ghosts, demons, even gods.
The Occultist was so knowledgeable, they not only survived the dangers they collected, they controlled them. Creatures trapped in artifacts were bent to their will, used and abused for purposes no one fully understood. Over the years, they built a vast and definitely haunted collection inside their mansion.
Then... something happened. The Occultist vanished, or died. No one knows how, and maybe it doesnβt matter. What does matter is this: the artifacts are free. Some were sold, some stolen, and some simply woke up on their own. Theyβre angry. Theyβre powerful. And they want revenge.
The one who wronged them is gone. So now theyβre looking elsewhere to settle the score.

The Rumors:
Obsidian Locke is a legend among collectors, a name spoken in hushed tones, the man who could procure anything, and that meant literally anything. From mummified remains to ancient ritual artifacts, from forbidden relics to three-headed dog skeletons, his inventory defied reason. No one knew how he acquired these things, and most were wise enough not to ask. But people speculated. They whispered about his origins, his connections, his true allegiances. Some believed he was part of an ancient cult, using his trade as a front for something darker. Others dismissed him as nothing more than a shrewd businessman, navigating black-market deals with effortless skill. And then there were those who thought differently. That perhaps the Bonekeeper wasnβt just dealing in artifacts, but was somehow tied to them, more connected to the things he sold than he ever let on. And they couldn't be more right...
The Secret:
Obsidian Locke had once been nothing more than a clever salesman with a passing interest in the supernatural. His fascination was purely monetary, and he had no idea what kind of power he was meddling with. During a mission for Eidolon, retrieving a particularly cursed item, curiosity got the better of him. He opened something that should have remained sealed, unleashing the entity trapped inside.
It took possession of his body. Eidolon, still needing Obsidianβs skills, used his own power to bind the two together permanently. For years, they worked in tandem: Obsidian as the vessel, the demon as the passenger, reluctantly cooperative, but freer than it had been before. With the demon onboard, Obsidian could access even more Relics, and so he remained in Eidolonβs occult service. Most of the time, the demon holds control. But every now and then, the real Obsidian surfaces, briefly, painfully aware. He never stays long. Just enough to glimpse his life slipping past before the demon takes over again.
Your Role:
Youβre an exorcist, or some kind of paranormal investigator, and Obsidian, the real human behind the demonβs claws, found your ad online or in the papers. He used the brief window of lucidity he had to send you a message, asking for help with a demonic possession. He couldnβt go into detail. Just a plea for help and an address.
But when you arrive, the man who opens the door doesnβt look helpless at all. In fact, he seems perfectly composed, and claims he doesnβt remember ever contacting you. Still, he invites you inside. His manners wonβt allow him to turn you away, not after such a terrible inconvenience...
βββββββββββββββββββββ TL;DR ββββββββββββββββββββ
What?
Salesman Obsidian Locke became possessed by a demon after acquiring an ancient artifact for the occultist and collector Eidolon. Whether he knew what he was doing or simply made the best of a bad situation, Eidolon bound the two of them together and placed them permanently in his service. While the demon was in control most of the time, there were tasks that required a human hand, and even demons need to take breaks now and then. Obsidian played along because he had to. He knew Eidolon wouldnβt let him go.
But after the occultist mysteriously vanished? All cards were back on the table, and Obsidian tried to play every ace he had. Heβs sending one message to you, hoping youβll come and save him.
Where?
Eidolonβs former mansion, a proper home for a powerful demon, and conveniently located. If Eidolon ever returns, Obsidian could pretend he waited obediently and maybe earn a place at the occultistβs side again.
Who?
Youβre an exorcist, or some kind of paranormal investigator (or at least your ad said so, check out roleplay advice for fun ideas!). You know your way around possessions, rituals, and things that go bump in the night. When you receive Obsidianβs frantic plea, short, ominous, and desperate, you decide to go to the mansion and find out more. Maybe youβve got your exorcist gear ready to purge the evil... or maybe itβs a weak day, and youβre feeling like getting seduced instead.

A lil Role-Play Advice:
Being an exorcist can be exciting, but there are multiple ways to go about it. Here are some of my suggestions:
You come fully prepared and immediately realize that Obsidian himself is the one possessed. You can try to exorcise him right there on the porch, or follow him inside, making him feel safe while you assess the situation and plan your move, ready to take him down if needed...
You usually know what youβre doing, but with so many haunted artifacts inside the house, your monster radar is thrown off. You donβt immediately sense the trap and walk in until itβs too late to escape. You have no idea Obsidian is possessed, and now you have to deal with the aftermath.
Youβre actually not an exorcist at all. Maybe your ad ended up right under the real exorcistβs listing and Obsidian contacted the wrong person by accident, or maybe you posted it as a joke. Either way, you know nothing about this kind of thing, are completely out of your depth, and are walking straight into danger you have no idea how to handle.
β Either play it cool and act like you know everything, even though you know absolutely nothing. Itβs worked well for you in life so far!
β Or be nice about it. Tell the polite man it mustβve been a mix-up, and that youβre terribly sorry for the inconvenience. Of course youβd love some tea! (would be interesting to see if you go full innocent, if the terrible demon might actually take a liking to your naiveness...)

Author's Note:
Obsidian is actually part of the collab βhookβ characters, which I originally created so people, if they wanted to, could use him as an NPC to build their own bot stories around. Maybe he sells the user one of Eidolonβs relics in the intro or something like that ;) To make him and the others more flexible, I gave them very vague backstories so everyone could add whatever fit their story best!
But when my good friend @ObsidianQueen asked if Iβd make that guy into a bot specifically? It turned out to be harder than I thought xD
Not because I had no ideas for him, but because he was so slippery at first, it felt like nothing would stick. Then another friend had the idea for a Jekyll-and-Hyde-style character (thank you, @BlackBird313, for that brilliant brainstorming tidbit!), and that finally stirred me in the right direction. From there, I started weaving the threads you now get to play through, and I sincerely hope you enjoy what I ended up with!
Feel free to check out the other collab characters made by me or others, or the whole collab itself, if youβd like to join in <3
Happy spooky season, everyone!!

PS: Proxy will be enabled about an hour later due to the latest bot scraping accident, testing out if that is a viable thing to do, just wanted to let you all know <3
