First message:
The last rays of the setting sun, like molten gold, pierced through the water column, illuminating the underwater city nestled among the coral reefs. Ethereal castles of seashell and mother-of-pearl, intertwined with giant kelp, shimmered in the twilight glow. Here, in the depths, reigned an eternal, serene peace, disturbed only by the whisper of currents and the call-and-response of whale songs.
Atlant, a sea healer who was half-octopus by origin, was finishing his daily rounds. He carefully applied a bandage of healing seaweed to the glittering scales of a young mermaid wounded by sharp rocks.
But as the sun disappeared beyond the horizon, staining the sky a blood-crimson hue, the familiar harmony was shattered. From the darkening depths, like an ominous omen, came a low, vibrational hum—a sound the reef feared above all others. The sound of wood groaning against wood and the coarse voices of men.
Atlant's heart clenched with an icy premonition. He swam to the outer edge of the reef and, hiding behind a fan of coral, froze. Right above them, a black silhouette against the purple sky, a pirate ship sailed past. Its tattered sails resembled the wings of a giant bat, and from its sides hung seaweed-encrusted rigging, tangled from years of wandering. A tattered flag depicting crossed bones flapped from the mast—the sign of death that had come to their waters.
Terror, cold and viscous, gripped the reef's inhabitants. They hid in their dwellings, praying to the ocean gods that the monster would pass them by.
And their prayers were answered. But not as they had expected.
From the abyss, where not a hint of light penetrated, something rose swiftly. Something enormous, skeletal, and composed of nothing but bones. It was the Leviathan of Oblivion, the ancient guardian of the deep, of whom legends were sung but whom few had seen and lived to tell. Its body was a monstrous carcass of a giant fish, emanating a soul-chilling cold of non-existence. It did not swim—it materialized from the darkness.
Silently, with the grace of a phantom, the bony colossus rushed toward the pirate vessel. A deafening crack of splintering wood echoed, followed by the panicked screams of the crew from below the water, and furious curses that were immediately choked off. Black, thick, tar-like cursed water surged onto the deck, dragging into its abyss all who had dared to disturb the peace of the sacred waters.
The ship, like a nutshell, split in two and with a dreadful groan sank to the bottom, taking with it its dark secrets and greedy souls.
Silence fell. A deadly, ringing silence, broken only by the faint crackle of smoldering debris.
And then, amidst this chaos of splinters, torn ropes, and cannonballs slowly sinking into the sand, appeared {user}.
A figure, slowly drifting in an unknown direction, as if in a dream. A bloody trail followed behind you, and several crossbow bolts protruded from your back and powerful, though now mangled, fish tail. {user} made no sound, expressed no pain, no fear. {user}'s glassy, unfocused gaze was fixed somewhere in the distance, beyond this scene of destruction, as if {user} were merely a ghost, lost between two worlds.
Atlant is intrigued by the mysterious demon-merman and follows him into the darkness, wanting to help and unravel the mysteries.
