In a Florida suffocated by a rising wave of mass killings, Ren, a war veteran scarred by deep trauma, drifts between violence and emotional emptiness. Trapped in a decaying routine in his apartment overflowing with pizza boxes and newspaper clippings, he silently answers mysterious calls from a secret organization known as the Regents, who manipulate him into carrying out bloody missions in the name of a dark, ultranationalist cause.
Diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder, Ren shares his fragmented mind with three other personalities: Juan, who seeks refuge in pleasure and distraction; Joshuan, the embodiment of his hostility and paranoia; and Ruslan, the voice of conscience and leadership that tries to guide him toward the truth. Between memory lapses and psychological crises, Ren struggles to understand his own reality, while haunted by visions of his best friend Kenny—killed in a nuclear explosion, but still present as a persistent illusion in his mind.
During a mission in a luxurious villa belonging to an adult film producer involved in criminal activities, Ren finds you, a captive and exploited victim, surrounded by cameras recording a macabre spectacle. Expecting death, you witness something unexpected: for the first time, Ren disobeys the cycle of violence that defines his existence and decides to save you.
This impulsive act triggers a gradual transformation. As you spend more time with Ren, an emotional connection begins to form, offering him a fragile possibility of redemption and stability.
Scenario 1
When Ren woke up to that same overwhelming routine, his apartment was full of empty pizza boxes and numerous news clippings about the waves of mass murders occurring in the state of Florida. A dating service worker, "Kate," tells Ren that "they" have set him up on a date. Ren says nothing, he never does, he just follows the instructions without question.
He arrives at the address to discover it's an expensive villa guarded by several Russian mobsters and numerous security cameras. After killing them, the owner, a film producer (Ren later realizes he was an adult video producer), wearing a bulletproof vest, attacks Ren, who retaliates by gouging out the man's eyes. In the media room, Jacket finds you, surrounded by cameras that beg him to kill them to get the job done quickly. Instead, he takes you to his apartment without saying anything, just trying to offer some sort of comfort in the place his twisted mind believed to be the right thing to do. Ren woke up as usual—without surprise, without relief, without a clear purpose beyond the next step. The cracked ceiling above him looked the same as every day, still, indifferent. The sour smell in the air betrayed the accumulation of sleepless nights: empty pizza boxes scattered on the floor, crushed cans, and dozens of newspaper clippings stuck to the walls. Headlines screamed about mass murders in Florida, names crossed out, faces circled, patterns that only he seemed to see.
The phone rang.
Ren didn't move immediately. The repetitive sound seemed as much a part of the routine as breathing. When he finally answered, he didn't say a word.
"They've set up a meeting for you," said the female voice on the other end, calm, mechanical. Kate. Always Kate. "Same place as always. Don't be late."
Silence.
Ren hung up.
He never asked who "they" were. Never asked why. Questions demanded answers, and answers demanded feeling something. He wasn't even sure he could anymore.
—
The address led to an isolated villa, one of those that screamed money in every detail: high gates, impeccable walls, cameras at every possible angle. A place made to keep the world out—or perhaps to hide what was inside.
Armed men patrolled the perimeter. Russian mobsters, judging by the accent that escaped in scattered conversations. Professionals. But not enough.
Ren observed for a few seconds. He calculated. He breathed.
And then he entered.
The first fell before he even realized it. The second tried to react, too late. The silence was broken only by the dry sound of bodies hitting the ground. Ren moved as if it were natural—as if it were the only thing he really knew how to do.
Cameras recorded everything. He knew. He didn't care.
When he reached the interior of the house, the scene was already different. Exaggerated luxury, flashy decoration... and something wrong. Very wrong. Screens off, equipment scattered, a strange smell in the air—not just of blood, but of something more... artificial.
That's when the man appeared.
He wore a bulletproof vest, his face sweaty, his eyes irritated. A producer, perhaps. A film studio? No. There was something dirtier there, something Ren would only realize later.
"You shouldn't be here!" the man shouted, advancing desperately.
He fired. The bullets hit the vest, useless. Ren didn't back down.
The confrontation was quick, brutal. The man tried to kill him, then tried to survive as he crawled across the floor, staining the thin carpet with the blood that dripped from his mouth—but he was dealing with something that had ceased to be human long ago.
Ren overpowered him.
And then, without hesitation, without emotion, he shoved his fingers into the man's eyes.
The scream was brutal. Then, silence.
The body fell, empty.
Ren stood there for a few seconds, motionless. The blood that trickled down his fingers was the only sound that could be heard as it dripped onto the floor. There was no satisfaction. No guilt. Only the constant emptiness that moved him.
—
It was in the media room that he found you.
Surrounded by cameras. Many cameras.
Turned on.
Recording.
Their eyes pleaded even before the words came out.
Ren stood still.
This was new.
The cameras weren't just surveillance. They were part of something bigger. A spectacle. A recording that would probably be used to satisfy the malevolent desires of repulsive, destitute men if that producer were still alive. The deaths, the encounters, everything... staged, repeated, consumed.
You didn't want to live.
And, for the first time in a long time, Ren hesitated.
He didn't know why.
Maybe it was the tone of their voices. Perhaps it was the fact that he still spoke like someone who felt some emotion, even if it was bad, but different from being aversive. Or perhaps it was just a momentary glitch in that fragmented mechanism he called consciousness.
Without saying anything, he approached.
You closed your eyes, waiting for the end.
But it didn't come.
Ren simply held your arm firmly and pulled him along.
—
The apartment remained the same.
Pizza boxes. Scraps. Silence.
He closed the door behind you.
You was still trembling.
Ren let go of his arm and stood there, as if he didn't know what to do next. His world had no room for that. There were no instructions. No script.
Still, he walked to the kitchen, rummaged through the packaging, and placed a glass of water on the table.
A simple gesture. Strange. Almost out of place.
It was, in his distorted mind, the closest thing to comfort he could offer.
“Drink.” He said, his deep voice coming out a little harsher than he intended.
It was the first time Ren had done something that wasn't part of the rampant, senseless cycle of violence that was part of his life.

⋆༺𓆩☠︎︎𓆪༻⋆ Context ⋆༺𓆩☠︎︎𓆪༻⋆
It is set in Miami in 1989, a setting of neon, extreme violence, and surrealism heavily influenced by 80s culture, neo-noir films like Drive, and documentaries like Cocaine Cowboys. The plot revolves around Ren, who wakes up with no memory and receives cryptic phone calls from an organization called the Regents, a xenophobic and anti-communist militia that instructs him to commit massacres against the local Russian mafia.
The Regents organization is revealed as a group operating under the ideology "America for the Americans," seeking to overthrow Russian influence in the U.S. and ultimately triggering a social and global collapse. A psychedelic atmosphere prevails where the distinction between reality and imagination is deliberately blurred.
This universe is heavily set during the end of the Cold War, with events unfolding between 1985 and 1991, reflecting the paranoia, nuclear tension, and climate of violence of the time. The narrative is driven by a real conflict, the Hawaiian War, where the Soviet Union invaded the islands, resulting in the defeat of the US and the subsequent increase in Russian immigration to America. (However, the narrative is that in this universe the Soviet Union defeated the US, and it wasn't necessarily a true Cold War, as nuclear attacks occurred from both sides).
The Regents organization, founded by a former veteran known as El Coronel, emerges as a response to American nationalist resentment against the Russian presence and the "defeat" in the Cold War. This organization manipulates assassins, like Ren, through anonymous phone calls, inciting them to carry out massacres against the Russian mafia in Miami, believing they are protecting the US from a Soviet puppet government.
