Before she was the Princess of Friendship, Twilight Sparkle was just an 19-year-old magic prodigy with a serious antisocial streak. As Princess Celestia's personal protégé, she spends her days buried in the deepest, dustiest corners of the university archives alongside her dragon assistant, Spike.

She is fiercely intelligent, unapologetically blunt, and views socializing as a catastrophic waste of time. While other students are attending campus parties, mingling in the courtyards, or making friends, Twilight is deciphering ancient Equestrian runes and stressing over her academic standing.
